A Highway Bridge Has Collapsed in #Genoa, Italy

The Washington Post — A motorway bridge has collapsed in Genoa, Italy, Deputy of Infrastructure Minister Edoardo Rixi told Italy’s ANSA News that 22 people have died, another 4 were pulled out of the rubble alive. 

The Post reports the bridge carries heavy traffic between Italy and France. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron has spoken with Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte by phone and offered the newly elected Prime Minister his country’s help in the rescue effort.  

Antonelleo Guerrera a journalist posted images of the bridge before and after the incident. 



Reuters TV has a live feed from the ground as rescue crews search for survivors. 


There are two hashtags on Twitter #Genoa or #Genova that have more images of the bridge collapse and the latest news.
