What the actual hell did I just watch?

In a scene that can really only be described as something right out of the movie Idiocracy, rapper Kanye West met with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, this morning in the Oval Office of the White House. The rambling rant that West gave us, while a smiling, nodding President sat admiringly, is really something to behold and to me is indicative of the Trumpian Crazy that we are living in on a daily basis.

West was meeting with the President to advise and discuss policies concerning prison reform, “stop & frisk” in places such as Chicago, and West’s personal lobbying to free Larry Hoover, who, while serving time in prison for killing a rival drug dealer, was convicted of running a $100 million drug gang from that prison and is now in prison for life.

“Really the reason why they imprisoned him was because he started doing positive for the community, he started showing that he had power, that he wasn’t one of a monolithic voice, that he could wrap people around,” West said. “It’s very important for me to get Hoover out because in an alternate universe I am him and I have to go and get him free because he was doing positive inside of Chicago, just like how I’m moving back to Chicago(.)”

Prosecutors alleged Hoover ran a deadly Chicago gang called the the Gangster Disciples and oversaw a $100 million-a-year illegal drug business from jail, according to The New York Times. Law enforcement authorities caught him giving orders to associates when they would visit him in jail.

According to the Times, Hoover worked as political organizer while serving in prison, creating an organization that worked toward education reform and keeping health clinics open in the poor neighborhoods.

In the clip below, West gives us a glimpse of his genius (he informs us that he’s in the 98th percentile of intelligence). During the rant, he essentially calls Trump his father figure and role model that he’s never had, who, with his MAGA hat (which is like a cape), gave him super powers like Superman (his favorite superhero, besides Trump)  or something. But that isn’t even the craziest part. He gives us insightful gems about the Constitution and the 13th Amendment, his expertise in business and making money, and his idea of how to make the President look fresh and fly.

If you think that this was just some one-time stunt that Trump will regret, think again. This is the second such meeting that he’s had with West. Add that to the meetings with West’s wife, Kim Kardashian West (I know, right?) and what could be more obvious that we are being led by the absurd.

It’s a long clip, but really needs to be viewed to be believed. Without further ado, behold the President of the Untied States and his adviser, Kanye West:
