Trump Targets Google

President Trump used his favorite platform Twitter for Presidential communications this morning to proclaim that “Google,” has “it RIGGED!” against him, that all the stories that appear when one searches “Trump News” only shows “Fake News.”

And in the second tweet, his favorite for issuing demands, or firing cabinet members, President Trump declared, “This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!”

President Trump deleted his original two separate tweets, re-issued similar tweets, this time in “thread,” format.

The Washington Post reports that it’s “unclear” if President Trump “Googled,” himself, or if he was reacting to a story from PJ Media writer Paula Bolyard, who penned an article on Saturday entitled, “96 percent of Google Search Results for ‘Trump’ News are from Liberal Media Outlets.”

The article starts with this question, “Is Google manipulating its algorithm to prioritize left-leaning news outlets in their coverage of President Trump?”

Right after the question she answers it in her next sentence, “It sure looks that way based on recent search results for news on the president.”

She continues to explain that she researched it herself using Google and the News tab, and explains she was “not prepared for the blatant prioritization of left-leaning and anti-Trump media outlets. Looking at the first page of search results, I discovered that CNN was the big winner, scoring two of the first ten results.”

Meanwhile, outside of the White House, top economic adviser, Larry Kudlow, who recently suffered a heart attack, was asked to respond to President Trump’s “unhappiness with Google and search results,” and did that mean that President Trump and the admin feel it needed “regulated,” Kudlow answered, “We’ll let you know, we are taking a look at it, we will let you know.”

To Re-cap

The President of the United States, unhappy with what news stories are found when the words “Trump News,” are searched using the Google search engine is possibly thinking about regulating the “internet” in part, and a chief adviser for the President, is suggesting, it’s a matter being “looked into.”
