For some of us Gen Xers and the Baby Boomers before us, the thought of growing up with ready access to social media and the entirety of what the internet has become, is almost unfathomable. Nobody really envisioned that we would be carrying phones in our pockets, that could also take digital pictures and video that could be immediately uploaded and shared with the entire world in less then a few milliseconds.
I’m positive had I grew up in the world of the Smartphone, I would have been an entirely different person. It literally would have changed my entire life experience and I don’t think I would have gotten away with 90% of the crap that I did.(which might have actually lead to better life choices in the future).
It’s quite possible that everyone having these magical devices world wide, might actually be curbing bad behavior on the threat of being exposed. Yes, you see crazy videos of kids doing dumb stuff, but that has always been the case. I don’t see nearly the amount of video footage as would be expected by a population our size. Who knows?
The big upside to missing out on the social media craze as a child is that we narrowly escaped a lifetime of ridicule and our fondest childhood memories being turned into a Twitter .gif
Lets celebrate by having a laugh at some crazy babies I’ve found while browsing the interwebs!
