Peace Officers Memorial Day is May 15th annually.

On October 1st, 1961 President John F. Kennedy signed the bill into law recognizing that May 15th from then forward would be observed as Peace Officer Memorial Day and the week surrounding the day would be called Police Week.

The News Blender would like to extend our thoughts and best wishes to the families of those Police officers who have died in the line of duty.

On Tuesday @The News Blender reported on Primary races that took place in four states. The winners from each state primaries will face off in the general election November 6th, 2018.

Rep Lou Barletta (R-Pennsylvania) will square off against Democrat incumbent Bob Casey.

Barletta: 429,637 63.1%

Senator Deb Fisher (R-Nebraska) seeking her second term in office will face Democrat Jane Raybould a Lincoln City Councilwoman.

Fisher: 127,083 75.8%

Raybould: 57,654 63.7%

Trade talks between China’s Vice Premier Liu and U.S Treasury Secretary Steve Munchin started Tuesday in Washington D.C. and are expected to last until Saturday.
