On Wednesday evening, CBS reported that Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah, are planning to depart the White House administration.
According to the CBS article Sanders has told “friends that she plans to leave the administration at the end of the year.”
According to sources inside the White House, Shah is considering the move, but has no exit date in mind.
The news comes as the White House communications team struggle with leaks. And has been reported to be in the mist of a power struggle between two groups, the smaller press office and the larger communications team which is run by Mercedes Schlapp.
CBS quotes the unnamed source as saying, “There will be even more people leaving the White House sooner rather than later, laid off or just leaving out of exhaustion. And it is going to be harder to find good people to replace them.”
Update
Press Secretary Sarah Sanders denies she plans on leaving the White House.
Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future? I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my “plans to leave the WH” without even talking to me. I love my job and am honored to work for @POTUS
