A 12 year old boy who mows grass to help support his mother who cares for his grandfather has seen his business grow after the police were called on him last weekend.
He was mowing Lucille Holt’s lawn for the first time when the police showed up. According to Lucille, her property line is not well marked and Reginald Fields, owner of Mr. Reggie’s Lawn Cutting Service, accidentally mowed about a foot of her neighbor’s grass. The neighbor, who Holt says has a habit of calling the police for inconsequential complaints, called Maple Height’s police and Holt was recorded the incident live on Facebook.
The police did not address the children when they arrived, News 5 reports.
Reggie Fields said the police said nothing to him and the kids. He finished the job and felt a little discouraged.
“I was like, that’s a shame. I didn’t know,” Reggie said.
After Holt’s Facebook post received thousands of views and hundreds of shares, Mr. Reggie’s Lawn Cutting Service has seen business boom.
Now, Mr. Reggie is getting a lot of support for his new business from people who see the video and want to make sure he’s never discouraged again.
“People are inboxing me like, ‘how can I get in touch with this children? Where are they at? I got property I want these kids to cut,'” Holt said.
Reggie, his siblings and his cousins are getting calls from all over the city now.
Reggie said he’s trying to save the money he earns to buy new equipment and grow his business.
“Just give me a call. I will be there. On time!” he said.
This is RIDICULOUS!!!
