Stormy Daniels aka Stephanie Clifford has been arrested in an Columbus, Ohio strip club.
Her lawyer Michael Avenatti announced the arrest via Twitter
Just rcvd word that my client @StormyDaniels was arrested in Columbus Ohio whole performing the same act she has performed across the nation at nearly a hundred strip clubs. This was a setup & politically motivated. It reeks of desperation. We will fight all bogus charges. #Basta

He issued another tweet confirming the arrest happened as the former porn star was performing on stage when a “customer,” touched her
She was arrested for allegedly allowing a customer to touch her while on stage in a non sexual manner! Are you kidding me? They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? There has to be higher priorities!!! #SetUp #Basta

We expect her to be released on bail shortly. We also expect that she will be charged with a misdemeanor for allowing “touching.” We will vehemently contest all charges. #Basta

An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act, according to the AP, prohibits non-family members “to touch a nude or semi-nude dancer.”
Avenatti expects Daniels to face a misdemeanor charge.
Daniels made headlines early this year when it was revealed President Trump’s longtime lawyer Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 back in October 2016, allegedly to keep the porn star quiet about an affair she had with President Trump back in 2006. She is currently suing both President Trump and Michael Cohen.
