Monday Afternoon
President Trump resumed tweeting @ 2:10 p.m. on Monday. The tweet explains that President Trump urges “the Senate” to pass legislation “that will remove gag clauses,” so pharmacies can tell a patient “the lowest drug price at their,” pharmacy of choice.
Americans deserve to know the lowest drug price at their pharmacy, but “gag clauses” prevent your pharmacist from telling you! I support legislation that will remove gag clauses and urge the Senate to act. #AmericanPatientsFirst
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 17, 2018
The “gag clause” according to CNBC is one that “pharmacy benefit managers,” might write into their contracts with pharmacies. The clause prevents a pharmacy from telling the patient paying cash versus using insurance might be cheaper. According to CNBC some states have “already enacted their own legislation prohibiting the practice.”
The Senate is expected to vote on Monday on a bill called “Patient Right To Know Drug Prices Act.” CNBC explains this bill would ban gag clauses.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 17, 2018
Fox News show host, Maria Bartiromo states, “It’s incredible to me that the main stream media refuses to report the actual stories that are most important to the American people. Not to mention your personal life in terms of the fact that you have more money in your pocket and the fact that you have done so much better given these new policies. But also the glaring ignoring of probably the biggest story of our time and that of course is the cabal of people at the top of the FBI and the DOJ who put their finger on the scale and tried to change an election. By creating a narrative that Donald Trump had anything to do with Russia and putting him into the Russian meddling scandal. It’s actually incredible.”
