On Monday Twitter was buzzing with the new hashtag #HimToo. The hashtag according to CNN was started by @MarlaReynolds and went viral.

The tweet that has now been deleted and the account itself deactivated read, “This is MY son. He graduated #1 in boot camp. He was awarded the USO award. He was #1 in A school. He is a gentleman who respects women. He won’t go on solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind. I VOTE. #HimToo.”

And like that a new hashtag trend was born, the problem according to CNN, is according to Twitter user @ DancinJonHason, who claims to be the woman’s son, and brother to the pictured Navy Sailor, the tweet is untrue.

Shortly after Jon Hanson tweeted about his mother and brother, his brother Pieter created a Twitter account @Thatwasmymom and tweeted @ 12:36 a.m., that he is not a supporter of #HimToo.
Since Pieter Hanson joined Twitter he has over 20,000 followers.

In a separate tweet Jon Hanson explained that his mother meant well and that she was just trying to find his “brother a girlfriend.”

The hashtag #HimToo found Twitter users poking fun at the viral tweets.
