Due to timing issues, the News Blender apologizes for not covering President Trump’s number 11 rally, which was live Saturday from Nevada.
On Monday President Trump is headed to Houston, Texas, to host MAGA rally number 12 for the month of October, with three more to follow:
- Mosinee, Wisconsin, 10/24.
- Charlotte, North Carolina, 10/26.
- Murphysboro, Illinois, 10/27.
Rally number 12 is the highly anticipated event hosted in support of Senator Ted Cruz (R) according to the New York Times, “Thousands of the president’s people converged beneath the downtown skyscrapers of Texas’ largest city on Monday for Mr. Trump’s rally for Senator Ted Cruz and other Texas Republicans.”
The New York Times also reports that Monday marks the first day that polls opened for two week early voting for the state which according to the article, is a “milestone,” writing that “more people cast their ballots during the early-voting period than do on Election Day.”
Senator Ted Cruz finished second in 2015/2016 primaries vying for the Republican nomination. The battled was heated with President Trump and the Senator from Texas trading insults, then-candidate Trump, dubbed Cruz, “Lyin’ Ted, mocked Cruz’s wife, even threatening to “spill the beans,” about her, via Twitter.
Then-candidate Trump also accused Cruz’s father of being involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Ted Cruz called President Trump a “pathology liar.”
