It’s time once again for another MAGA rally, this time live from Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Tuesday’s rally comes on the heels of the surprise resignation of UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, as the News Blender reported, she’s due to leave her post at the end of this year, President Trump said he expects to name a replacement in a couple of weeks.
During the Haley resignation presser that was taped from the Oval Office, President Trump teased reporters saying he was making a big announcement at Tuesday’s rally, according to The New York Times that announcement is that he will reveal plans to lift “a federal ban on summer sale of higher ethanol blends of gasoline.”
Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said regarding the planned announcement that for farmers it “would be a big boost not only because of the anxiety of tariffs but because we’re having another record corn crop and that naturally drives down prices.”
Citing sources that spoke on the the condition of anonymity prior to the official announcement of plan The New York Times explains that the ban “traditionally run from June through September on selling gasoline that is blended with 15 percent ethanol,” as part of a 2011 anti-smog measure.
The American Petroleum Institute according to the article has called the plan a “one-sided approach,” and “misguided.”
Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe (R) believes the deregulation will “hurt millions of consumers whole vehicles and equipment are not compatible with higher ethanol gasoline, and risk worsening air quality.”
Tuesday’s rally is the 5th rally in the last several days, President Trump has another rally planned for Wednesday the 10th followed by another one on Friday the 12th and one Saturday the 13th.
