One of the least impressive feats that human beings can perform is to run in a circle. It’s a task which, like spinning in place, is particularly beloved by young children. Nevertheless, British stuntman and gymnast Damien Walters became the first person to run in a circle in a particular way, back in 2014.
With a corporate sponsorship by Pepsi helping to bankroll his practice efforts, Damien ran in a circle… or more accurately, a “loop”… that was vertical.
Vehicular loops have been performed for decades, but until this effort running one using only the legs has been the exclusive domain of cartoon characters.
I cannot think of a reason why this skill would ever be useful. It’s impressive, anyway.
Question of the night: Have you ever done something completely irrational, just for fun?
