Propaganda Watch: Russian Social Media Ads–7/13/19

This is part of an ongoing series where I review some of the ads purchased by the Russians. In doing so I hope we can get a better understanding of what they were trying to do, and how to recognize it the next time we’re faced with propaganda.

The Russian Black Power groups were as active as ever in February 2016. Not just calling people to action at either protests or meetups, although that did make up almost half the ads from those groups. They also posted about actual news cases, like p(1)0001969 about Akai Gurley:

P(1)0001970 capitalizes on the case of Mario Woods:

P(1)0006506 played to a different issue. This time they tried to recruit Native Americans to join the Blacktivist cause by joining…something redacted:

There were still a lot of ads recycled from the months prior. P(1)0000443 is a good example:
