Propaganda Watch: Russian Social Media Ads–10/26/19

This is part of an ongoing series where I review some of the ads purchased by the Russians. In doing so I hope we can get a better understanding of what they were trying to do, and how to recognize it the next time we’re faced with propaganda.

I mentioned it before, but April had its share of ads trying to sway our votes. In fact, p(1)0000567 urged black voters to post their anti-Clinton pictures to Instagram:

P(1)0003842 did the same thing, this time directly targeting black Sanders supporters:

P(1)0000598 wanted Trump supporters to tag their pictures, too, but this time it was to be pictures of their kids. The ad was targeted to fans of “Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry” and Trump Jr, among others. There’s a sweet humor to there only being one click through:
