The news these days is often depressing at worst and frustrating at best. It’s easy to get caught up in the spin cycle and let it get us down. Never fear… The News Blender has you covered. Once a week we feature Something Good and, in return, all you have to do is tell us something good that has happened to you this week, something you are thankful for, a joke, a cute animal story, an inspiring tale of heroics, a Random Act of Kindness… SOMETHING good.
This week we have laughter which is always something good but when it is the laughter of a child it’s even better.
Ainsley Grace is a little girl who has Osteogenesis Imperfecta type 3. Her rare disease is also known as Brittle Bone disease, so named because the genetic defect causes the bones to break with no trauma – she was born with multiple fractures and by the time she was two months old she had refractured all those bones as least once.
Ainsley is two years old and will need medical treatment for the rest of her life. Something as simple as a cold can put her in the hospital.
Her parents believe that “God has gifted Ainsley with an incredible story and even more incredible spirit that overflows joy regardless of her pains or struggles”. Ainsley is, they say, “is one of the most joyful, giggly, goofy little girls” you’ll ever meet. They want people to see that Ainsley chooses joy amid her struggles and that God has big plans for this child.
The video of Ainsley and her dad making funny faces and giggling through a hospital stay will make you smile as you begin the new week!
The simple joy of a child is Something Good. Now it’s your turn… Tell me something good!
