The news these days is often depressing at worst and frustrating at best. It’s easy to get caught up in the spin cycle and let it get us down. Never fear… The News Blender has you covered. Once a week we feature Something Good and, in return, all you have to do is tell us something good that has happened to you this week, something you are thankful for, a joke, a cute animal story, an inspiring tale of heroics, a Random Act of Kindness… SOMETHING good.
Around Christmas time we often sadly hear of theft, among stories of Christmas cheer. Today we have both.
According to KRON, the Franklin County Police Department has identified, via video evidence, the thief who has been stealing from the donations of toys gathered by officers for children in the community.
The thief? Ben Franklin, the department therapy dog who was caught red-pawed in the commission of the crime. Ben apparently thought the toys were his and helped himself. Video of Ben carrying a baby doll in a carrier to his stash, a stuffed llama, under an office desk made the rounds on social media.
Police Chief James Mills described Ben, a Golden Retriever who has the run of the station, as a ray of sunshine and “the life of the party”.
Ben will not face charges but has been banned from the room where the toys are kept. The department has had to replace some of the toys which had incriminating doggie slobber on them.
Dogs and their funny behavior are definitely something good. Now it’s your turn… tell me Something Good!
