Trump Tweets Support for Actor’s for Friday’s Open Thread

As we await the arrival of the last weekend of 2019, the President has tweeted 6 times and retweeted 2 times, so far.

Actor Jon Voight according to Aceshowbiz, has won two Academy Awards. His first win came in 1979 for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the film Coming Home which was released in 1978. The win came nine years after his first Academy nomination. His second Academy Award win, for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, came in 2002 for the movie Ali.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Voight earned his Presidential shout-out via Twitter, for this December 18th, tweet.

The clip is 1 minute and 31 seconds long. In the clip he states that there is a God and there is truth, but the left-wing lacks truth and fears “Trump’s truth to save this country.”

He goes on to say “let us all stand with God, with President Trump and ask the holy light of God and Jesus for their prayers more now than ever for the evil is trying to win. This is a battle for truths. And the left are afraid of the true truths that President Trump has brought fourth.”

He continues, “this is America, we are strong, we are smart, and our leader President Trump has shown us this. If the Impeachment proceeds, America will fall. For President Trump has built it back and the extreme left are destroying this nation glory. I stand on this ground, this soil of the United States of America and I remember the words of Abraham Lincoln. This is not what God would want.”

He continues, “They are not concerned for good or bad. This is evil intent to destroy a President who has America in his hands and the left are destroying. What do we do? We pray and hope that in God we trust. Much love.”

Well, that’s one minute and thirty-one seconds I will not ever get back. Voight is wrong. Yes, there is a God, yes, I’m a believer, but President Trump has not shown us we are strong. He has not been a good messenger for the glory of God, he has in fact, highlighted all the human sins that Jesus died for. He continues to self-worship, and Voight, in this clip, is putting a human being full of those sins, on the same level as he is God. He might as well have said “In Trump we Trust,” because that was in fact his message.

Kristy Swanson is best known for playing the original Buffy, in the 1992 film Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Swanson earned her shout-out by calling President Trump, the best ever.

After the President thanked two actors for their support, he moved on to whining about being Impeached and the upcoming Senate trial.

This President will still be Impeached, the Senate does not in fact negate the Articles of Impeachment. What the Senate will most likely do, is vote against removing the President from office.

The Senate can not undo Impeachment. That is forever.

He moved on from whining about the Impeachment in his next tweet, which brags about the “Stock Market.”

Google told me it was this CNBC article from Thursday, that President Trump is quoting, the title, “Trump stock market rally is far outpacing past US presidents.”

According to the opening line in the article, “President Donald Trump’s stock market stacks up well against the majority of his presidential predecessors.”

Some excerpts from the article.

Trump’s market got a boost from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and the central bank, which lowered interest rates three times this year, the first time since the end of the financial crisis. The Fed slashed rates on fears of slowing growth at home and abroad.

Trump’s third year is above average, but not the best of any past president. In 2013, former President Barack Obama’s stock market returned more than 32%, as the economy bounced back from the Great Recession.

If history is any guide, Trump is in for another strong year in 2020.
Stocks are up in year four more than 66% of the time and the S&P 500 returns an average of 5.7%, according to Bespoke.

While Trump is confident about a strong market next year, Wall Street is forecasting much more modest gains. The average S&P 500 target for 2020 among analyst on Wall Street is 3,330, less than 4% higher than Tuesday’s close. Trump will need a 6% gain in the S&P 500 to beat the average presidential return

Congress.gov explains that S.216 “Spokane Tribe of Indians of the Spokane Reservation Equitable Compensation Act,” requires, “the Bonneville Power Administration to make specified settlement payments to the Spokane Tribe in relation to the construction and operation of the Grand Coulee Dam. Payments made to the tribe may be used or invested in the same manner as other tribal governmental funds. The initial payment extinguishes all monetary claims that the tribe may have against the United States to a fair share of the annual hydropower revenues generated by the Grand Coulee Dam.”

It was signed by the President on 12/20/19.

Congress.gov S.256 was signed by President Trump also on the 20th of December.
*I’m unable to locate mention of Sec. 2870 in the PDF of the bill.

The summary of the bill:

This bill revises a grant program administered by the Administration for Native Americans at the Department of Health and Human Services to preserve Native American languages. The minimum number of enrollees in educational programs funded by grants is reduced from 10 to 5 enrollees in Native American language nests, which provide instruction through the use of a Native American language for children under the age of 7 and their parents. For survival schools, which are programs striving for fluency in a Native American language and proficiency in other academic fields, the minimum number of enrollees is reduced from 15 to 10. The bill increases the maximum duration of grants.
The program is reauthorized through FY2024.

According to Great Falls Tribune, the recognition of Little Shell Chippewa Tribe was included in the National Defense Authorization Act.

*I was unable to locate it as it was mentioned in a different bill*
