Propaganda Watch: Russian Social Media Ads–3/28/2020

This is part of an ongoing series where I review some of the ads purchased by the Russians. In doing so I hope we can get a better understanding of what they were trying to do, and how to recognize it the next time we’re faced with propaganda.

On July 7, 2016 a sniper shot fourteen Dallas police officers, killing five. The Russian ads wasted no time exploiting this tragedy. P(1)0001505 from Williams and Kalvin negated the idea the shooter was involved with the Black Lives Matter movement:

P(1)0002062 pointed out the KKK attacks in response to the shooting:

The Being Patriotic group pushed a petition to have Black Lives Matter deemed a hate group after the incident in p(1)0002283:
