It’s Friday also known as May 1st, 2020.
Today’s the day that the Impeached President’s national recommendation of social distancing to slow the spread of the deadly coronavirus expire.
For May 1st, 2020, President Grievances has tweeted 6 times and retweeted 6 times so far.
President Impeached started off his day by explaining that it’s been his honor to hurt the farmers, then use tax dollars to bail them out.
I have done more for farmers and ranchers than any President in history, and it has been my honor in doing so! https://t.co/YcCznszW7P— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
I have done more for farmers and ranchers than any President in history…
On January 30th, 2020, Reuters reported that according to federal court data, U.S. farm bankruptcy rates jumped 20 percent in 2019. It was an eight year high.
According to data released this week by the United States Courts, family farmers filed 595 Chapter 12 bankruptcies in 2019, up from 498 filings a year earlier. The data also shows that such filings – known as “family farmer” bankruptcies – have steadily increased every year for the past five years.Reuters. 01/30/2020.
Farmers across the nation also have retired or sold their farms because of the financial strains, changing the face of Midwestern towns and concentrating the business in fewer hands.
As the News Blender reported in July 2018, the federal government announced their intent to provide $12 billion of emergency farm aid to farmers hurt by the trade war with China.
In May of 2019 as the News Blender reported an additional emergency government bailout for farmers was announced. At the time U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Predue said that President I don’t understand how tariffs work, had authorized the USDA to provide $16 billion in programs to assist the farmers.
In January of 2020, Reuters explained that nearly one-third of “projected U.S. net farm income in 2019 came from government aid and taxpayer-subsidized commodity insurance payments, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.”
The court data indicates those supports did help prevent a more serious economic fallout, said John Newton, chief economist for the American Farm Bureau Federation.Reuters. 01/30/2020.
Some of the biggest bankruptcy rate increases were seen in regions, such as apple growers in the Pacific Northwest, that did not receive much or any of the latest round of trade aid from the Trump administration.
But yeah, he’s done the most for farmers ever, and he is honored to do it!
President Tariff Man moves on from loving the farmers to tweet quote fan Tom Fitton.
Dirty Cop! https://t.co/xrB4PYTV0J— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
Maybe he’ll receive the Noble Prize?!?
We move away from the “dirty cop,” that wasn’t to focus on attacking Democratic Senator and Minority leader Chuck Schumer of New York. Twice.
Cryin’ Chuck Schumer was on a late night show using a false talking point over & over again. “We don’t have enough testing ,” he would repeat, when he knows we have done a great job on Testing, just like we have on Ventilators and everything else. He lied, gave NY SALT. Run AOC!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
Cryin Chuck Schumer, compared to what other Senators have brought home to their states, has brought very little back to N.Y. A totally overrated loser, the one thing he has given them is SALT. He never even called me to stop it. No wonder Cuomo & most others can’t stand him. AOC!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
TONIGHT! With federal stay at home orders set to expire after tonight, Senate Democratic Leader @SenSchumer tells @StephenAtHome that Trump should use his powers to massively scale up coronavirus testing. #LSSC pic.twitter.com/mvLPzHu3mj— A Late Show (@colbertlateshow) May 1, 2020
Politico reported on Thursday, that according to two people familiar with the matter that the Capitol’s attending physician said that, “coronavirus tests will be available for staffers and senators who are ill, but not enough to proactively test all 100 senators as the chamber comes back in session.”
In a conference call with top GOP officials, Dr. Brian Monahan said there is not sufficient capacity to quickly test senators for coronavirus — a contrast with the White House, where any people meeting with President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are tested for the disease. Monahan said test results in the Senate will take two or more days, while the White House has rapid testing.Politico. 04/30/2020.
Axios reported on Thursday that the topic of testing was brought up when one of the Republican chief of staffed mentioned that most of the Senators were in the high-risk category of catching the virus. According to two sources familiar with the conference call.
According to these sources Monahan said, “We don’t have the capability to do a large-scale test,” adding that he couldn’t offer the kind of testing the White House does, due to the lack of supply of the high-speed tests.
He was asked if he could “see if the White House had any extra capacity to test some of the more elderly senators such as Dianne Feinstein, Richard Shelby and Lamar Alexander. Monahan said he’d look into it.”
The Senate is scheduled to return to the Hill on Monday.
but, yeah, sure, it’s a total falsehood to suggest there is a lack of testing.
He lied, gave NY SALT… A totally overrated loser, the one thing he has given them is SALT. He never even called me to stop it.
This is not the first tweet relating to the State and Local Taxes deductions.
….People are fleeing New York State because of high taxes and yes, even oppression of sorts. They didn’t even put up a fight against SALT – could have won. So much litigation. The NRA should leave and fight from the outside of this very difficult to deal with (unfair) State!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 29, 2019
The New York Times on December 19th, 2017 reported that, “Republicans took a critical step toward notching their first significant legislative victory since assuming full political control, as the House and Senate voted along party lines on Tuesday and into early Wednesday to pass the most sweeping rewrite of the tax code in decades.”
Politifact rated the April 2019 tweet as false.
Rep. Nita Lowery (D-NY) was quick to respond via tweet at the time.
Is he living under a rock?! We fought tooth and nail against the Republican elimination of the SALT deduction. If he's OK with bringing it back, he should join me in convincing members of his own party to reverse their decision to hurt working families. https://t.co/1O5NqiHSMc— Nita Lowey (@NitaLowey) April 29, 2019
In December 2019 the New York Times reported that the House had voted to repeal the SALT cap, but that bill stood no chance of passing the Senate.
Schumer responded via tweet to President Baby’s latest attack.
President Trump:— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) May 1, 2020
Nearly 2 months ago, you told Americans: “Anybody that wants a test can get a test.”
But it’s May 1, and you still don’t have enough tests or an adequate national testing strategy.
Americans are sick and dying. What are you waiting for!? https://t.co/WsZCnTDtWe
President Liar moved on to weigh-in on the protests happening in Michigan.
The Governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire. These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
put out the fire..
That he continues to flame…

How did they come up with the 6 feet rule? Science, that’s how, and if you’d have watched one presser in March, you’d have known. It’s all about rate of travel of a cough and sneeze. In lay terms anyway. The more you know.
On April 30th, 2020, Governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer (D), announced that after “the Republican-controlled Michigan Legislature refused to extend the emergency and disaster declaration that was set to expire at midnight tonight, Governor Gretchen Whitmer took swift action by signing three new executive orders to continue fighting COVID-19 and save lives.”
What’s in the orders:
- Executive Order 2020-66, which terminates the existing state of emergency and disaster declarations issued under the Emergency Management Act in Executive Order 2020-33.
- Executive Order 2020-67, which clarifies that a state of emergency remains in effect under the Emergency Powers of the Governor Act of 1945. The order is effective immediately and continues through May 28, 2020 at 11:59pm. The governor will evaluate the continuing need for this order prior to its expiration, and if she determines that an emergency no longer exists, will terminate or extend the state of emergency declared in this order.
- Executive Order 2020-68, which declares a state of emergency and a state of disaster across the State of Michigan under the Emergency Management Act of 1976. The state of emergency and state of disaster declared by this order will be effective through May 28, 2020 at 11:59pm, and the governor will evaluate the continuing need for the order prior to its expiration, terminate the states of emergency and disaster if the threat or danger has passed.
Whitmer offered a statement:
COVID-19 is an enemy that has taken the lives of more Michiganders than we lost during the Vietnam War. While some members of the legislature might believe this crisis is over, common sense and all of the scientific data tells us we’re not out of the woods yet. By refusing to extend the emergency and disaster declaration, Republican lawmakers are putting their heads in the sand and putting more lives and livelihoods at risk. I’m not going to let that happen.
Today I signed new emergency and disaster declarations using independent sources of statutory authority to make sure our health care workers and first responders have the tools they need to save lives and protect Michiganders. We’re all in this together. Defeating COVID-19 is an all hands on deck moment for our state, and I remain hopeful that Republicans in the legislature will stop the partisan games and start working with me to re-engage our economy safely and responsiblyWhitmer statement. 04/30/2020
President Firestarter moves on from fanning flames to bitch about the media.
Concast (@NBCNews) and Fake News @CNN are going out of their way to say GREAT things about China. They are Chinese puppets who want to do business there. They use USA airwaves to help China. The Enemy of the People!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 1, 2020
Our daily reminder that the President of the United States is truly unfit for office.
1. January 24th, 2020…
China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 24, 2020

Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days. Nothing is easy, but…— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 7, 2020
….he will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone. Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!— Donald J. February 27th, 2020.
Congratulations and thank you to our great Vice President & all of the many professionals doing such a fine job at CDC & all other agencies on the Coronavirus situation. Only a very small number in U.S., & China numbers look to be going down. All countries working well together!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 28, 2020
The very next day…
So, the Coronavirus, which started in China and spread to various countries throughout the world, but very slowly in the U.S. because President Trump closed our border, and ended flights, VERY EARLY, is now being blamed, by the Do Nothing Democrats, to be the fault of “Trump”.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 28, 2020
Does this mean by his own measure that he too is the enemy of the people?
Apparently Dear Leader is traveling to Camp David today.
Here's Trump's public schedule for tomorrow. (Public schedules don't include all of a president's activities.) pic.twitter.com/apYqMuvSkP— Daniel Dale (@ddale8) May 1, 2020
This might be the return of the infamous helicopter talk with Trump…maybe. Typically or as of late before the virus, these events were not aired live, as they had been done in the past, however it is possible that President Look at Me will speak to the press live while awaiting his helicopter from the South Lawn.
This post might see some updating today.
This is an Open Thread.
Hope all of you have a safe and happy weekend.
