It’s Monday.

For Monday President New Tone Same as His Old Tone has tweeted 1 time and retweeted 35 times so far.

In his first tweet he try’s to positively spin “Homeland Security or Federal Forces,” involvement in Seattle and Portland, Oregon.

July 21st, 2020, Western States Center filed a suit against the Trump Administration claiming that the federal law enforcement presence in Portland, Oregon, violated protesters First and Tenth Amendments rights.

Executive Director of Western States Center, Eric Ward said in a press release:

President Trump made a big mistake when he tried to make an example of Portland. He pulled federal agents away from their actual jobs to use them as shock troops in our community. We are truly proud to stand with local allies and elected officials to go to court and bring an end to this madness.
Our suit, filed today in federal court, seeks to restore Portlanders’ rights under the First and Tenth Amendments. Trump sent heavily armed federal agents against the express wishes of state and local leaders to try to pick a fight. That was made clear by Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf, whose inflammatory remarks and unnecessary trip to Portland significantly exacerbated tensions, which had been calming.
President Trump targeted Portland to score political points. But he hasn’t just picked a fight with us. He’s picked a fight with all Americans who believe in upholding the U.S. Constitution.

Western States Center. 07/21/2020.

On Thursday as the News Blender reported the DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced that the Office of the Inspector General had launched an investigation into the use of force allegations levied against Department of Justice law enforcement personnel deployed in Portland, Oregon.

On Saturday OPB.org reported that according to multiple federal law enforcement sources “Several dozen additional out-of-town federal law enforcement officers are deploying to Portland as they look to make additional arrests in the coming days, while also shifting tactics from the use of tear gas.”

According to the article the “beefed up federal presence,” comes as internally federal officials are acknowledging they have “contributed to the quick escalation between law enforcement and groups of protesters, which had dwindled to a couple hundred people or less earlier this month.”

Some video highlights.

Near as I can tell, this is not federal officers this is Portland Police.

Here are some of the stranger things I found.

A look at Weekend with Twitter Trump.

Saturday.

On Saturday President That Tweets too Damn Much tweeted 12 times and retweeted 7 times.

my big win =’s The Supreme Court ruling in 2018 that after the third try the travel ban was within a President’s legal authority under national security to ban entry from countries deemed unsafe to America.

Travel Ban Bill =’s not a bill but an Executive Order.

TIME reported on Wednesday of last week that the House passed a measure that would, “repeal the Trump administration’s ban restricting travel from targeted nations and prohibit future presidents from implementing bans based on race or religion.”

The measure passed 233-183, with two Republicans voting in favor of the No Ban Bill.

He placed the word wow over a tweet posted in March.

The word Fuck is used several times throughout the video, in which Antoine blasts the Democrats for blocking the $1.8 trillion stimulus package, blames them for American’s dying, and starving because they just care about power, and didn’t pass the bill.

Reminder Antoine’s tweeted video is from March.

Sunday.

On Sunday President Seriously Has too Much Time to Tweet, tweeted 16 times and retweeted 46 times.

Twice he mentioned that the upcoming election would be “rigged.”

He explained in another tweet that he would be unable to throw out the first pitch on August 15th, because of his laser focus on the Coronavirus which he again called the China Virus.

There was more media bashing, shocking no one.

Here’s the problem he faces, our Constitution grants us rights to protest the government, federal, state, and city, when vandals and protesters are treated as equal under the eyes of our Federal Government; such as tear gassing mostly peaceful protesters to clear the path for the Wannabe Dictator in Chief to pose for a photo, the people respond.

This is not to say as I’ve said many–many times, that vandals should be allowed to run free and cause problems, violent ones, or sometimes just property damage.

This is simply to say that government overreach, federal authorities, going into cities to “quell” unrest by lumping in both the peaceful, loud, sometimes obnoxious protesters, in with the actual criminals, is going to have the opposite reaction from the people. Which is how come the unrest in Portland that saw about 100-200 people which had gathered for about 50 plus days prior to the Federal forces arrival is now seeing 1,000 people gathering to protest the Federal force presence.

One more from Sunday.

The article Hume is referencing was an Opinion Piece posted at The Hill, written by Jonathan Turley.

Turley explains that; the Washington press corps seems engaged in a collective demonstration of the legal concept of willful blindness, or deliberately ignoring the facts, following the release of yet another declassified document which directly refutes prior statements about the investigation into Russia collusion. The document shows that FBI officials used a national security briefing of then candidate Donald Trump and his top aides to gather possible evidence for Crossfire Hurricane, its code name for the Russia investigation.

Here’s where Turley goes wrong in his opinion piece.

First, the Russia collusion allegations were based in large part on the dossier funded by the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee

Turley via The Hill. 07/25/2020.

That is not accurate according to DOJ IG Michael Horowitz.

These officials, though, did not become aware of Steele’s election reporting until weeks later and we therefore determined that Steele’s reports played no role in the Crossfire Hurricane opening.

IG FISA and Crossfire Hurricane Report. 12/2019.

Collusion =’s not a criminal action according to the Federal Government which also makes Turley’s 4th and final point inaccurate.

Fourth, the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller and inspectors general found no evidence of collusion or knowing contact between the Trump campaign and Russian officials

This post might be update.

This is an Open Thread.

I had hoped to have this in it’s own thread, but time management was not my friend today.

Congressman John Lewis will lie in state inside the Capitol Rotunda only for a few hours, before he is moved outside where the public can pay their respects. The family has requested the public to wear face coverings and practice social distancing as they pay their respects to the civil rights icon.

The New York Times reports that even with safety precautions in place that his family has urged people not to travel to the Capitol, but instead to pay ““virtual tributes” using the hashtags #BelovedCommunity or #HumanDignity.”
