It’s Wednesday aka Day 3 of the Republican National Convention.

For Day 3 of the Republican National Convention President Appears to be Trying Not to Ruin Things has tweeted and retweeted zero times so far, (now that I wrote that sentence, he’ll start tweeting.)

Starting at 9:01 p.m. D.C. time on Tuesday, Day 2 of the Republican National Convention, President Laws and Rules Are for Other People Not My People started tweeting out video clips from the Convention. Thirty-five in total between 9:01 p.m. and 11:22 p.m. D.C. time.

I’m not posting them all.

In this clip President Honestly Doesn’t Care about Optics or Laws, or Rules, Unless a Democrat Breaks Them, can be seen pardoning reformed bank robber Jon Ponder @ 9:07 p.m. D.C. time.

I’m not against pardons, not normally, but this, during a private political parties event, took place in our White House. That’s a step-too far for me.

@ 10:24 p.m. D.C. time, President Abuser of his Power of Office, can be seen in this clip attending a new citizenship swearing in ceremony presided over Acting Department of Homeland Security Chad Wolf.

Early Tuesday President Flips off American’s While Begging for Votes, announced his intent to officially nominate Wolf to the post of DHS Secretary.

Again, I have no problem with new citizens, I have a problem with the ceremony taking place during a private political event.

Ends RNC highlights.

I’d like to take a moment to note that the Hatch Act, does not apply to the President or Vice President, but should apply to others like Acting DHS Secretary Chad Wolf.

U.S. Office of Special Counsel; Federal Employee Hatch Act Information:

Except for the President and Vice President, all federal civilian executive branch employees are covered by the Hatch Act, including employees of the U.S. Postal Service. Even part-time employees are covered by the Act, and all employees continue to be covered while on annual leave, sick leave, leave without pay, or furlough. However, employees who work on an occasional or irregular basis, or who are special government employees, as defined in title 18 U.S.C. § 202(a), are subject to the restrictions only when they are engaged in government business. Federal employees fall within two categories under the Hatch Act, Further Restricted and Less Restricted.

This might also apply to Secretary of State Mike “Pompous Ass,” Pompeo. Who made history last night becoming the first sitting SoS to address a political convention. He was also speaking from foreign soil.

And like water running downhill, it’s tweeted 1 time so far.

On August 7th, 2020, Business Insider reported that the U.S. intel Community believes that Russia supports President Puppet’s reelection and that China wants Biden.

China.

“Many foreign actors have a preference for who wins the election, which they express through a range of overt and private statements; covert influence efforts are rarer,” he said in a statement.
“We assess that China prefers that President Trump – whom Beijing sees as unpredictable – does not win reelection,” the NCSC director wrote, pointing to Chinese concerns over the administration’s criticisms of Beijing’s handling of COVID-19, the shuttering of one of its diplomatic missions, and its efforts to derail China’s ambitions in the South China Sea, among other things.

Russia.

We assess that Russia is using a range of measures to primarily denigrate former Vice President Biden and what it sees as an anti-Russia ‘establishment,'” Evanina wrote. “This is consistent with Moscow’s public criticism of him when he was Vice President for his role in the Obama Administration’s policies on Ukraine and its support for the anti-Putin opposition inside Russia.”
“Some Kremlin-linked actors are also seeking to boost President Trump’s candidacy on social media and Russian television,” Evanina added.

I have found no current reporting that suggests something new has happened.

Just-in….right okay…

“If Joe Biden was President China would own our country.”

In Day 3 Republican Convention News.

NPR is reporting that former NFL player Jack Brewer, who is scheduled to speak on Wednesday evening at the RNC event, was charged civilly–not criminally, with insider trading earlier this month by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The SEC alleges he sold 100,000 shares in a penny stock, because he had inside information that the company’s share price was likely to drop. The charges, filed August 6, are civil – not criminal. The SEC is seeking financial penalties, a return of “all ill-gotten gains he received directly or indirectly,” and a permanent ban on Brewer “from participating in any offering of a penny stock.”

NPR.org. 08/25/2020.

When NPR reached Brewer on the phone for comment, he is quoted as saying, “I’m taking off for my flight,” and hung-up on them. He hasn’t responded to additional email messages seeking a comment.

This post might be updated.

This is an Open Thread.

In other news, Hurricane Laura is due to hit the border between Texas and Louisiana some time tonight.

To all of the Blenders in the path of Laura, please be safe. Laura appears to be a massive very dangerous hurricane. My prayers are with you all.
