It’s Monday aka Day 1 of the Democratic National Committee Convention.
For Day 1 of the Democratic National Committee Convention, President Spotlight has tweeted 2 times and retweeted zero times, so far.
In his first tweet he promotes his phone-in interview with Super Groupies–Fox & Friends.
On Saturday President ME’s brother Robert Trump, 71, passed away.
On Monday, Steve Doocy expresses his sympathy for the loss of his brother to which he responded by saying, “he was my friend and I guess they say ‘best friend,’ and that’s true.”

Trump's tribute to his late brother is all about him: "He was my biggest fan. People would tell me all the time, 'I spoke to your brother and your brother was so thrilled.' And so thrilled at what was happening. And what was happening for the country, he was so angry with China." pic.twitter.com/jTWkAL4dwW

"He was my friend. And I guess they say 'best friend.' And that's true," Trump says on Fox of his late brother, Robert. (His statement upon Robert's death this weekend said, "He was not just my brother, he was my best friend.")

Trump praises his late brother Robert for his lack of "jealousy" of him. Whether he "had the number one show," a great real estate deal or was becoming president, Trump says, Robert didn't show the jealousy that sometimes exists in families.

President ME is asked about the DNC Convention in which Hannity’s main-squeeze says that Joe Biden will be in his basement because no one is going to Wisconsin. She does not mention the coronavirus pandemic as the reason nobody is traveling to hold a large in-person gathering.
It takes Trump about five minutes to hype "boaters for Trump" pic.twitter.com/kc5F2ytF87

He responded by saying he was going to Wisconsin to which she laughed, he also bragged about “boaters for Trump.”
In this next clip he says words regarding China, the coronavirus and the trade deal with China.
"They have new flare-ups in Germany … we've done phenomenally on this thing," Trump claims. Germany had 625 new Covid cases yesterday. The US had 42,181. The outbreaks aren't comparable. pic.twitter.com/eJ6vzNqydk

President ME, transcript by me: China had the worst year–in sixty-seven years last year, but then the plague [coronavirus] came in. So we made a great trade deal–you see that with the farmers–the farmers are happy. They’re not even complaining. In fact my biggest problem is they’re so happy they want me to do nothing.
On August 14th, 2020, Nikkei Asian Review reported that U.S., farmers are speaking out against President ME’s trade policy.
Soybean farmer from Ohio, Christopher Gibbs, who supported President ME in 2016, is quoting as saying, “The president promised better trade deals, but that was all smoke and mirrors. What we didn’t anticipate was that the president would destroy all of these trading relationships that U.S. farmers have built over the past three decades, particularly in China.”
From the article:
U.S. soybean exports to China, which neared 1.8 million tons in January, plunged in the following months, going as low as roughly 160,000 tons in June, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This compares to last summer when, in the midst of trade talks, soybean exports regularly topped 1 million tons a month.
In the year through March, 627 family farms in the U.S. filed for bankruptcy, a 23% increase from the previous year, according to U.S. courts statistics. Wisconsin, a state known for dairy and ginseng productions, lead the bankruptcies.
Nikkei Asian Review. 08/14/2020.
The clip continues with President ME blasting China for allowing the virus to come to the U.S., and the world. He adds that there are flares all over the world, but the media never covers it.
In this next clip he says that nobody has been killed in Afghanistan for a long time.
Trump claims "nobody has been killed there [in Afghanistan] for a long time." As @ddale8 points out, two US soldiers died there last month: https://t.co/qPmo7aQEkA pic.twitter.com/Ut3HAhTZNE

Asked about a new Wall Street Journal article that said the Interior Secretary approved oil drilling in Alaska’s Arctic Refuge, President ME says, “well were looking at different things, we may or may not do it.” Doocy says, “this says you are planning to allow it.”
President ME: No, we are looking at it. When you say planning to allow it–we are looking at different things in Alaska.
Asked about a report that he plans to open up part of a wildlife refuge in Alaska to oil drilling, Trump talks about how he got a new highway for the state (as if that's a fair trade) pic.twitter.com/43RfawHcps

From The Wall Street Journal:
The Trump administration approved an oil leasing program for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge Monday, opening up the pristine 19-million-acre wilderness to drilling for the first time and making it difficult to unwind the decision should Democrats recapture the White House in November.
Approving the program clears the way to auction oil leases “right around the end of the year,” Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said in an interview. The decision caps more than 30 years of efforts by oil companies and Alaskan leaders to drill in the refuge.
Bernhardt: Congress gave us a very clear directive here, and we have to carry out that directive consistent with the directive that they gave, and consistent with the procedural statutes. I have a remarkable degree of confidence that this can be done in a way that is responsible, sustainable and environmentally benign. We take our direction from the president. The president has been very robust on opening additional areas of federal lands, as appropriate, to resource development. We’ve tried to hit his priorities as expeditiously as we can—with appropriate deliberation.
