This is part of an ongoing series where I review some of the ads purchased by the Russians. In doing so I hope we can get a better understanding of what they were trying to do, and how to recognize it the next time we’re faced with propaganda.

If you want to follow along, the ads can all be downloaded here. All of today’s ads can be found in the 2016-q4/2016-12 folder.

Once the elections were over it was no longer needed to focus on the candidates. Who did the ads focus on? Between the November and December ads it appears Colin Kaepernick was the hero of choice. P(1)0001405 encourages you to be like Kaeperncik and see yourself as Black first and American second:

P(1)0002883 celebrates Kaepernick for donating to the Black Youth Project 100 which, according to the website, is building a Black politic through a Black, queer, feminist lens:

P(1)0005687 defends Kaepernick’s praise of Fidel Castro:

THIS IS AN OPEN THREAD. Take care, and be well.
