Propaganda Watch: Russian Social Media Ads–1/17/2021

This is part of an ongoing series where I review some of the ads purchased by the Russians. In doing so I hope we can get a better understanding of what they were trying to do, and how to recognize it the next time we’re faced with propaganda.

During January of 2017 they aimed a few ads ad Christians, using different angles. P(1)0005455 (the most popular) had a simple message about defending faith:

People didn’t find the message of p(1)0005461 about Jesus calling on you to “load your gun” as appealing:

P(1)0005644 advertising the Black Baptist Church/Black Liberation Church was about as successful:
