It finally happened, 13 days, 23 hours, and 16 minutes earlier than planned, Twitter permanently suspended the Twitter account of the 45th President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.
After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.https://t.co/CBpE1I6j8Y

Before we hit the rest of the thread, let it sink in, that because of tweets issued by the Almost Former Impeached President of the United States, not China’s, or Russia’s President, but the United States of America’s, Twitter felt their only course of action was to ban the account. To protect others from violence, he could and did cause with his tweets.
In the context of horrific events this week, we made it clear on Wednesday that additional violations of the Twitter Rules would potentially result in this very course of action. https://t.co/NrANZJcAfo

Our public interest framework exists to enable the public to hear from elected officials and world leaders directly. It is built on a principle that the people have a right to hold power to account in the open. https://t.co/ZcbhDEAYjH

However, we made it clear going back years that these accounts are not above our rules and cannot use Twitter to incite violence. We will continue to be transparent around our policies and their enforcement.

President Trump took office on January 20th, 2017
His last day on Twitter was January 8th, 2020. According to the Trump Twitter Archive between his Inauguration Day and now just shy of 4 years exactly he has issued 15,930 tweets and 9,234 retweeted bringing his tweet total to 25,164 tweets.
Now, my plan, for January 22nd, 2021, was to recap our highs, and the super lows with Trump’s Twitter Feed, but that plan is now moot as Twitter has suspended the account.
So, instead….
This final thread of the tweets wouldn’t be complete without me sending my deepest thanks to all of my readers. Thank you, for understanding my obsession with the tweets from the most powerful man in the world, for not thinking it too silly or worse, not important enough to worry about.
In 2016, I said his tweets mattered, I was told, by Cult 45’s, that he’d pivot once he was sworn-in, and who cared it was just Twitter….well, people cared maybe too much, maybe not enough, we won’t know, but we do know, that his tweets, wrecked havoc on our country.
I thank you for your support, your encouragement, and for your being okay with swearing….
