Coffee Talk With Tiff for Sunday’s Open Thread

Coffee. Photo by Jonathan Thursfield.

It’s Sunday.

Sunday, June 27th, 2021, finds me at 8:15 CA time, sipping my 4th *possibly* 5th cup of coffee, after getting roughly 5 hours of sleep, since I played Uber last night for my daughters friend. Been a bit since I had to drive one of her friends home, but the car she typically drives, has a water leak from hell and is undrivable at the moment.

I did wake at 7 a.m. CA time, started both sucking back coffee and scrolling Twitter and the Owl’s comment section.

As many here are aware the Twice Impeached Former President 45 had a rally last night. Now, I was going to spend this morning finding the silly shit he said so we can mock him. But honestly, the script for last night was the same as it was since he lost the election. “I won” it was “RIGGED,” and Montana is missing ballots!!! Okay, that was actually something new, but yeah, he’s still a dangerous dude, with a shrink audience, at least on Twitter, as finding real clips of the event wasn’t as easy as it was in the past.

Anyhoo, there was a hashtag–two in fact #TrumpRally and TRUMP2024ToSaveAmerica.

Let’s take a peek…

At this time we pause because I’m an idiot, on little sleep, and lost the golden tweet, yep, it was hilarious.

Okay, found a tweet using the funny meme from June 15th, 2021…

Speaking of cuckoo…

She wasn’t alone in her “fan girling”…

Twice Impeached Former President 45 got 74 million votes, not 80 million…

Neither hashtag is currently trending, but what is trending…

Barr. 06/27/2021.

From the new Atlantic article: [it’s just the first paragraph, it’s not pay walled].

Donald trump is a man consumed with grievance against people he believes have betrayed him, but few betrayals have enraged him more than what his attorney general did to him. To Trump, the unkindest cut of all was when William Barr stepped forward and declared that there had been no widespread fraud in the 2020 election, just as the president was trying to overturn Joe Biden’s victory by claiming that the election had been stolen.

The Atlantic. 06/27/2021

Yeah, okay, but let’s me be honest, he wasn’t loud about it, he didn’t hold a presser to say “dude is lying,” he told an AP reporter on December 1st, 2020, over lunch that “To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.”

He’d leave D.C., just a couple of weeks later.

In newly released documents as NPR explained on June 15th, 2021, we see that Twice Impeached 45 was pressuring Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen…

In one example, Trump directed sham claims of voter fraud to then-Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen less than an hour before the president tweeted that Attorney General William Barr — who publicly stated that there was not evidence of widespread election fraud — would be stepping down and replaced by Rosen.

NPR. 06/15/2021.

Anyhoo, apparently this is shocking news to some people, not us, cause we’ve had McBitchy’s number for awhile now…

“Look, we need the president in Georgia,” McConnell told Barr, “and so we cannot be frontally attacking him right now. But you’re in a better position to inject some reality into this situation. You are really the only one who can do it.”
“I understand that,” Barr said. “And I’m going to do it at the appropriate time.”
On another call, McConnell again pleaded with Barr to come out and shoot down the talk of widespread fraud.
“Bill, I look around, and you are the only person who can do it,” McConnell told him.

The Atlantic. 06/27/2021

Really?

DumbBarr was the only one that could say the truth? That Impeached Twice 45 lost and yeah, it’s over? Bullshit. That’s just bullshit.

And there it is almost the end of our coffee talk…

Just a random not linked to the above other than he’s a Congressman that is Republican.

The other day on one of the articles NCMoutainGirl asked after Nazi wannabe Cawthorn said on the House Floor:
“It was Thomas Jefferson that said “facts are stubborn things.””

If he had ever, so far in his short time in the House, gotten a quote right. Well, it turns out the answer is no, he really hasn’t gotten one right.

CNN’s Daniel Dale:

Rep. Madison Cawthorn, a freshman Republican from North Carolina, has called himself a “big history buff” and a “lover of history.”
But Cawthorn — who, at age 25, is the youngest member of Congress — keeps getting historical facts wrong.
Cawthorn also has a record of other false claims. Here’s a look at some of the inaccurate assertions he has made about the American past in particular.

CNN. 06/27/2021.

There are 4 things listed in detail the History Buff got wrong.

This is an Open Thread.
