Coffee Talk With Tiff the 4th of July Edition

It’s Sunday aka the 4th of July.

For, July, 4th, 2021, President Biden has a public schedule. This afternoon he and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will travel from Delaware back to D.C.. This evening they will host a BBQ with essential workers and military families. At around 9 p.m. D.C., time, the President and First Lady will view the fireworks over the National Mall.

I called this “coffee talk” and yeah, imma sipping my coffee…but today, it’s not about bitchiness, it’s not about omg, did you see this bullshit, it’s just about us celebrating and enjoying an easy (I’m busy today, so easy might be the wrong word), Sunday, celebrating our Independence Day…

In politics, they always ask us, “are you better off today than you were blah blah time ago…” And today, I can say we are better off this 4th of July than last 4th of July. Or at least, I feel better off.

While last 4th of July was not normal, not even a tiny bit, one thing that did happen, was I watched Hamilton the Musical on Disney+. It is a true musical in the sense the spoken word is used far less than the musical word. I found this 2016 Tony award, (the musical was nominated for a record 16 Tony’s and if you aren’t a musical theater person, that’s a freakin’ lot), performance.

My favorite three songs; one is super sad, it’s all the feels, the sad ones, the other…

The third makes me laugh every time Spotify plays it for me. And yeah, Not going to lie, I sing it out loud and proud too. 🙂

Super sad. I can’t express how sad it is, it’s just sad. But underlying the sadness, gut wrenchingly sad, is a hope that everything will be alright in the end.

I’ve shared this one before…but…yeah…
