It’s Monday.

An easy listen. The harmonies…

For Monday August 23rd, 2021, President Biden has received his daily brief. He has also received a brief on the ongoing situation in Afghanistan. This afternoon he will welcome to the White House WNBA Champions the Seattle Storm.

Early Monday morning The FDA approved Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine. The name in my opinion is dumb, but that’s just cause it reads dumb and will be spelled wrong from this day forward…

Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.

Kirby: The timeline for the vaccination completion will be provided in the coming days.

As a result of full approval President Biden has tweeted 1 time so far for Monday and added a press appearance to his daily schedule.

When Biden Bits was published on Sunday, President had tweeted 1 time, he added 4 tweets giving him a Sunday Tweeting Total of 5 tweets and 0 retweets.

The YouTube video is 24 minutes and 50 seconds long. President Biden’s full remarks can be found here.

President Biden (0:29): I want to begin by expressing my deepest condolences for the sudden and tragic loss of life due to this flash flood. I know we’ve reached out to the community and we stand ready to offer them support. I’ve asked the Administrator to speak to Governor Lee of Tennessee right away, and we will offer any assistance they need for this terrible moment.

AP News reported early Monday, that Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis confirmed that 22 people died as result of mass flooding in Tennessee on Saturday.

Waverly, Tennessee’s Department of Public Safety posted a list of the still missing residents via Facebook.

Nick Valencia a CNN Correspondent shared a 15 second video of just a snip of the aftermath.

President Biden (4:20): Henri is going to continue to move across much of the Northeast, so it is important to monitor it closely and be prepared in your home and your community. Make sure you have the supplies for your entire household, including necessary medications and food, water, battery-powered radios in case of extended power hour outera — power outages.

About 43 minutes ago on Monday…

This tweet is from today, but the video footage is from over the weekend.

President Biden (11:32): As this effort unfolds, I want to be clear about three things. One, planes taking off from Kabul are not flying directly to the United States. They’re landing at U.S. military bases and transit centers around the world. Number two, at these sites where they’re landing, we are conducting thorough scrutiny — security screenings for everyone who is not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident. Anyone arriving in the United States will have undergone a background check. Number three, once screened and cleared, we will welcome these Afghans, who helped us in the war effort over the last 20 years, to their new home in the United States of America. Because that’s who we are. That’s what America is.

Some tweets regarding the Afghan withdrawal from Monday…

Just for the record President Biden did not tweet for Saturday.

President Biden’s remarks on the coronavirus vaccine approval are expected around 1:30 p.m. D.C., time.

The daily press briefing is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. D.C., time, but will likely begin later as result of President Biden’s added remarks.
