Sunday’s Coffee Talk With Tiff

It’s Sunday.

Yesterday, I shared photos from my family vacation to Disneyland, today; We had across the esplanade to visit Disney California Adventure (DCA).

DCA is home to Radiator Springs Racers; a ride based on the popular Disney movie Cars.

RSR or what I just call the cars ride opened summer 2012. It still has 90 plus minute wait times throughout the day at DCA. Our first time attempting to ride the ride was March-ish 2016, that day many moons ago, the ride had tech issues so was closed when we arrived at DCA. While hanging about a lady approached us with return tickets to the cars ride; she and her friends were heading back to London and couldn’t use the rain check tickets. She even had just 3 of them.

Our second time with the ride; we queued up versus using the fast pass lane.

My husband did post a TikTok which I’m gonna share it’s sideways…

Here’s a YouTube video not ours of the whole ride.

Both times we’ve ridden the cars ride have been night time rides.

We did manage to get some day time views…

One to five minutes after sunset every evening, DCA lights the lights all throughout cars land…

My husband did video tape for TikTok but copyright has it muted so here is some rando’s YouTube of the lights lighting up…

DCA’s newest draw is Avengers Campus featuring a new dark ride Spiderman Web Slingers…

The gist of the ride; Peter Parker aka Spiderman has created a spider-bot, they go nuts, and you have to help defeat them by shooting webs at them. This is basically achieved by just waving your hands around the screen…

I won’t lie, it was fun, it’s a great ride for kids, as there isn’t a height restriction. As a sometimes “Marvel” fan, I was a tad disappointed in the ride simply because I was hoping for a bit of speed and surprise…

Would I ride it again, probably…

Campus is a bit of an oversell too, considering it’s smaller than you’d think, but we did get to see…

I haven’t found the Loki ears, the struggle is real…

Anyhoo, my favorite DCA ride is new to me at least, it’s called Grizzly River Run…

Cause it’s a water ride we didn’t get images from the ride itself…

I’m a huge fan of water rides, love them, my goal when I ride them is to get wet, cause why else ride them???

Next time if it’s open even in November, we are gonna try to video tape it ourselves with Alli’s water proof camera…

At this point though I’m just glad I finally got to ride it, considering every time I’ve gone in the past, it’s been closed for one reason or another…

Now we move on to…

But where Halloween really comes alive at DCA is nighttime…

And there it is, well mostly, I have video’s I’m sure how I can share but maybe eventually…

To recap our two Disney days:

Rides ridden:

Jungle Cruise: A classic, can’t go without riding the Cruise ride filled with bad puns aka dad jokes…
Rise of the Resistance: Overall a new attempt to ride every trip. Amazing for fans of Star Wars…
Tea Cups: A classic one of my favorites from childhood…
Disneyland Railroad: As an middle-aged person I have a new love for the convenience that is the Disney railroad…
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters: Fun for all ages as you score points against your ride companion.
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh: Someone was tripping acid, but overall a cute family dark ride.
Pirates of the Caribbean: A classic, we got the front-row, still amazing…the sights, the sounds, and the smells.
Haunted Mansion: A classic even with the Nightmare overlay.
Radiator Springs Racers: One thing about this ride that’s fun is how you feel like you’ve been in the movie cars, the roller coaster feel at the end. Amazing.
Web Slingers: Fun for kids tad disappointing for adults, but will attempt another go…
Grizzly River Run: Hoping it’s open in November…*fingers crossed*
Autopia: My husband said not again, he’s too tall the cars are too little…

Dets for our next Disney days:

November 12th and 13th; Big Thunder mountain will be reopen for our next trip plus we get to see the delights of Christmas time from the Happiest Place on Earth…

Overall the goal of this next trip; be better photographers. 😉
