It’s Saturday.
Christmas is a week from today…
This is normally where I’d place this day’s Christmas music song choice, but instead; I’ll be sharing some down thread…
It’s not really Saturday morning as I sit here to type words, share gifs, tweets, and music…
I am however having coffee at 8:22 p.m. CA., time on Friday; no it’s not even spiked, I have to drive later, so, yeah…
Anyhoo…
I had planned to write about this…
Which led to this story from Yahoo News, that my husband shared with me…
The chief of staff for Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona tried to catch a plane rumored to be full of fake votes, according to a recent court document.
The episode is one of the most outlandish in the fruitless search by allies of former president Donald Trump for proof that the 2020 election was stolen.Gosar’s aide, Tom Van Flein, hunted for a plane from South Korea that conspiracy theorists identified as a source of what they thought would be election-changing levels of fraud…
Yahoo.News.com. 12/16/2021.
See the three dots?
Well, the Yahoo News article cited this New York Times article…
It’s there we find this…
Mr. Gosar embraced the fraud claims so closely that his chief of staff, Tom Van Flein, rushed to an airplane hangar parking lot in Phoenix after a conspiracy theory began circulating that a suspicious jet carrying ballots from South Korea was about to land, perhaps in a bid to steal the election from Mr. Trump, according to court documents filed by one of the participants. The claim turned out to be baseless.
Mr. Van Flein did not respond to detailed questions about the episode.
New York Times. 12/15/2021.
The court documents linked above where filed on March, 3rd, 2021…
I of course, had zero idea who Staci Burk was and why she was suing “DOUG DUCEY, in his official capacity as Governor ofArizona, KATIE HOBBS, in her official capacity as Secretary of State, CLINT HICKMAN, JACK SELLERS, STEVE CHUCRI, BILL GATES, STEVE GALLARDO, in their official capacities, ADRIANFONTES, in his official capacity, DOES I-X.”
Of course, I Googled further to discover that Burk, 47 as of August 2021, single mom, wannabe lawyer, and is/was a person who believed the election was stolen from Twice Impeached 45…
In May of 2021, the U.S. Supreme Court denied her request without comment.
It was as I was finding…
For reasons she still doesn’t quite understand, Burk, a 47-year-old former Gilbert school board member, aspiring lawyer and Republican activist, was plucked out of political obscurity and placed at the center of a national campaign to overturn Joe Biden’s presidential victory. For weeks, a heavily armed security team, sent by Trump’s disgraced and pardoned former national security advisor Michael Flynn, lived at her house, allegedly protecting her while stoking her conspiracies and fears.
Arizona Agenda.substack.com. 08/17/2021.
But nine months after the election, with no great revelation, no smoking gun pointing to the massive fraud the former president claimed, one of Arizona’s biggest Stop the Steal proponents is having second thoughts.
Hank shares an image of an email he says was from Burk sent on June 3rd to the Attorney General’s Office and election officials that says; Based on information that has come to light over time but especially in the last couple of weeks, I no longer believe there was election fraud with the South Korean plane…
Recall that’s the plane a sitting U.S. Congressman’s “chief of staff,” attempted to have detained; or video taped and investigated…
Anyhoo, it was as I was reading up more on Burk when I stumbled onto this by accident, I swear…
And there I am stumbling down an entirely more welcome rabbit hole!!!
From the article: On Thursday, the arbiters of greatness at Guinness World Records revealed that the 75-year-old country music superstar had broken three impressive records.
The article goes on to say: She now holds the title for most decades on the US Hot Country songs chart by a female artist (seven) and the most No. 1 hits on the US Hot Country Songs chart by a female artist (25). As for the third record broken, well, it’s one she already held. Parton had topped the list for most hits on the US Hot Country Songs chart back in January with her 108th successful track, “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas.” But her recent release, “Does He Love You,” with duet partner Reba McEntire, pushed her to top that earlier achievement with her 109th hit.
Now, I was like “Cuddle Up, Cozy Down Christmas”???
Yes, I went straight to YouTube and found…
In between the two quotes I shared they posted this…
The interview is 8 minutes of wonderful…
She talks about her collaboration with Reba McEntire remaking Reba’s hit Does He Love You…
She’s also asked what her favorite song lyric is; she talks about her song Coat of Many Colors because it was based on a true story of her life and brings back childhood memories of her mom…
But since the person was asking what specific lyric sticks out she laughs, her Dolly laugh, and says; Pour myself a cup of ambition…
That’s my favorite line too cause it means coffee…
Since it’s Christmas time; I have no idea how old I was but, I remember decorating at my house, still my parents house, while we listened to a cassette tape of several artists Christmas songs…
Now obviously, I didn’t understand the full meaning of the song when I first played the track to death…
I’ll be fine and dandy
Google.
Lord, it’s like a hard candy Christmas
I’m barely getting through tomorrow
But still I won’t let
Sorrow bring me way down
That came later as I got older and so did my kids…
So, while, I’d love to go back to that other rabbit hole bullshit; that is now a year old and we are still learning just how close the coup was. I think I’ll keep my Dolly glow for just a tiny bit longer while I sip my Friday night coffee…
