Biden Bits: As We Celebrate…

It’s Tuesday…

Because I looked up Super Bowl music…YouTube keeps suggesting this song…

I really am not sure the connection but well, I do recall blasting this song on our band trip buses…

When Biden Bits was posted for Monday, President Biden had tweeted 2 times. He added 2 tweets giving him a Monday Tweeting Total of 4 tweets and 0 retweets…

I didn’t watch the ads…

But I found some via this NPR.org article regarding the commercials…

According to them NBC got more than $6.5 million for 30 seconds of ad time.

I found this one via CNBC News

According to them based off an analysis by PR Newswire 6 out of the 7 car brands that aired on Sunday promoted EV’s.

Found this one from Volvo apparently it digs at Musk…

There is this one from GM…

The CNBC News article I linked above says that while the ads “dominated” the Super Bowl they only make up about 9 percent of passenger car sales.

We went over this yesterday in Biden Bits for Monday:

The last two plans have morphed into the Build Back Better Act/Agenda when in October of 2021 President Biden announced the Build Back Better Framework:

[snip]

Ask the highest income Americans to pay their fair share. The Build Back Better framework includes a new surtax on the income of multi-millionaires and billionaires – the wealthiest 0.02 percent of Americans. It would apply a 5 percent rate above income of $10 million, and an additional 3 percent surtax on income above $25 million. The Build Back Better framework will also close the loopholes that allows some wealthy taxpayers to avoid paying the 3.8% Medicare tax on their earnings.

Invest in overhauling tax administration, so the wealthy finally pay what they owe. Regular workers pay the taxes they owe on their wages and salaries—with a 99 percent compliance rate—while too many wealthy taxpayers hide their income from the IRS so they don’t have to pay. Yet, the IRS does not have the resources it needs to pursue wealthy tax cheats. As a result of budget cuts, audit rates on those making over $1 million per year fell by over 60 percent over the last decade, and the IRS audits only 75,000 of the 4.2 million partnership returns filed each year. The result of a gutted IRS is a two-tiered tax system, where wage earners pay all the taxes they owe, but the top 1 percent evades over $160 billion per year in taxes. The framework will create a fairer tax system through transformation investments in the IRS: hiring enforcement agents who are trained to pursue wealthy evaders, modernizing outdated IRS technology, and investing in taxpayer service, so regular Americans can get their questions answered and access to the credits and benefits they are entitled to. Additional enforcement resources will be focused on pursuing those with the highest incomes; not Americans with income less than $400,000.

For Tuesday, February 15th, 2022, President Biden has received his daily brief. This afternoon he will offer remarks at the National Association of Counties 2022 Legislative Conference.

President Biden has tweeted 1 time so far for Tuesday…

The video clip is 2 minutes and 38 seconds long…

President Biden: Black History Month is more than a celebration. It’s a powerful reminder that Black History is American history. Black culture is American culture. Black stories are essential to the ongoing story of America.

President Biden con’t: Shining a light on Black history is as important to understanding ourselves and growing stronger as a nation as it has ever been. And it’s critical–so it’s critical that we take the time to celebrate the contributions of Black Americans, honor the legacy of generations past, reckon with centuries of injustice, and confront injustice that still festers today.

President Biden con’t: You know, since taking office, Vice President Harris and I have been proud to build a government that looks like America. With trailblazing Black leaders in my cabinet and distinguished Black American’s serving in roles all across our administration. Very soon, I’ll be honored to nominate the first Black woman in American history to serve on the United States Supreme Court.

President Biden con’t: At the same time, we’ve worked hard to reverse decades of underinvestment in Black communities. From vaccine shots in arms, to checks in pockets, to tax cuts for working families with children, to a landmark investment of $5.8 billion in Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

President Biden con’t: Last year, we reduced poverty among Black Americans by an estimated 34 percent. We cut Black child poverty in half, and helped more people gain health insurance through the Affordable Care Act thank any year in history. And now we’re doing more.

President Biden con’t: Removing lead service lines that have contaminated water for too many homes and schools. Delivering high speed internet to every community, so no family is left behind, and making historic investments in transportation, helping people get to good jobs quickly and safely, remediating environmental injustices that have hit Black communities the hardest, delivering major investments to Black entrepreneurs and small businesses to get the capital they need to grow, and doing everything we can to make the community safer and more prosperous.

President Biden con’t: We’re also working tirelessly to deliver on my Build Back Better agenda, bringing down the cost of childcare, housing, prescription drugs, and so much more without raising taxes on anybody making less than $400,000 a year.

President Biden con’t: And we’re not going to rest until we protect the foundation of our democracy, the sacred right to vote.

President Biden con’t: As we celebrate Black History month, let’s carry forward the work of our lives together, to dismantle systematic racism in every part of our society. To fight for dignity, and to fulfill America’s promise for everyone. For everyone.

President Biden’s address is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. D.C., time.

The daily press briefing is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. D.C., time…
