Before he began singing his own songs, Browne wrote several songs for other artists, the most famous of which is “Take It Easy”, performed by the Eagles (credited as co-written by Browne and Glen Frey). Browne recorded “Take It Easy” for his first album in 1973, listed below. Also included below is an Eagles live performance of “Take It Easy”, with Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt joining in. As best I can tell this was in 1972: fun to see the Eagles before they were super famous, with long hair and looking like hippies.
[Minor annoyance ahead: for unfathomable reasons, the official Jackson Browne YouTube channel split “The Load-Out” and “Stay” into two videos. Normally they’re played together as one track, listed as “The Load-Out/Stay”. As a result, we have a forced intermission between the two.]
