(Open Thread) Snark Bites — The One I Wrote At 5AM

So it’s Saturday, and you know what that means! Okay, maybe you don’t. But it’s Snark Bites, and you know what that means, right? It’s time to point and laugh at people. Or at least snark about them.

That little girl looks like she’s in a hostage video… “Please help me! I’m pretending I agree with them so they don’t hurt me…”

Did Nikki Haley suffer a serious brain injury recently? Maybe someone should check on her.

The best export from the Trump administration! Undermining democracy around the world, one fake election fraud claim at a time!

Speaking of fake election fraud claims…

So Joe Pierce is the J6 and election fraud equivalent of an ambulance chaser?

Also, the RW media describes hers as a narrow defeat, but she lost by 5% of the vote, which most people would agree isn’t a close race…

Um… I can’t even.

It’s apparently now a “distraction” to point out a candidate doesn’t actually live in the state where he’s running for the US Senate, or to point out some past horrible comments.

Yeah, it’s a total fallacy that the GOP is anti-woman. Tell that to all the women who are racing to register to vote this year…

Is it just me, or is the sneer she’s sporting an indication of the contempt she has for anyone who disagrees with her? Then again, maybe she’s sneering at her audience and how gullible they are?

BANNON: (unintelligble) Marjorie Taylor Greene to be part of leadership? Part of leadership, uh, when this new Congress takes place? What has to happen, and how can this War Room Posse assist you?

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: Well, I think would take a change within our conference itself. Right now, the conference doesn’t operate the way where it accepts my voice in leadership. They, they tend to push my voice and my ideas to the side. But I think if the people support me, and the people support the legislation that I’m bringing forward, eventually we can make something like that happen.

Me: You’re never going to be supported by a majority of people across the country, Margie. Never.

TRUMP SPOKESPERSON: …um, doing everything they can to possess stolen property, so they can leak and lie about President Donald J. Trump to try to stop him, uh, from challenging them. I mean, that’s what this is all about. I mean, and these are stolen records, that, you know, we keep calling it a raid. This was a break-in. I mean, you know, you raid somewhere that you actually have probable cause. That there is illegality and wrongdoing. You do not raid the home of the former President of the United States, and your number one likely political challenger. No, that is a Banana Republic. That is a third world country.

Me: First off, the FBI and DOJ can’t “steal” something from Trump if it belongs to the government.

Also, the same people who were demanding that the classified documents be made public, so we all could decide if the raid was justified or not are upset that we all know that, yes, the raid was justified. So they just keep on going on the offense, pretending we all don’t know what we know and whine about the DOJ leaking information.

Gee, the DOJ wouldn’t have leaked that, you know, some of the classified documents were about a foreign nation’s nuclear capabilities if y’all weren’t out there defending Trump and lying about what he was doing, pretending it’s totes normal for him to have classified documents, but it’s somehow different when Hillary did it…

Alina Habba has many thoughts about the lawsuit she filed on Trump’s behalf that got thrown out

HABBA: Because when you have a Clinton judge, as we did here, Judge Middlebrooks, who I had asked to recuse himself, but insisted that he didn’t need to, he was gonna be impartial.

Me: So, basically, like Trump, her take is only a republican judge would give her and her client a fair deal. That only someone partisan can actually be “impartial.”

I don’t think that word means what she thinks it means…

HABBA: And then he proceeds to write a 65-page, scathing order where he basically ignored every factual basis which was backed up by indictments, by investigations, the Mueller report, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. Not to mention Durham.

Me: Um… he had to write a 65-page order because your complaint was nearly 200 pages long. And he pointed out (as here) that you might’ve talked about indictments, but you failed to note that, say, in the case of Sussman, that he was acquitted. That’s kind of a big thing to omit from your complaint and also here on Hannity’s show. (See page 6 of the order.)

Likewise, the Amended Complaint cites copiously to the indictment of Michael Sussmann and a substantial portion of the Amended Complaint contains its allegations. (See Am. Compl. fns. 58, 60, 66, 67, 69, 101, 107–11, 114, 120–21, 124–35, 138, 139, 206, 210, 214, 259). Exhibits and testimony from the trial are also included. (See id. ns.5, 17, 31, 59, 61, 64, 65, 67, 70, 75–77, 90– 92, 98, 99, 101–06, 112, 115, 117–19, 122, 123, 136, 137, 140–47, 157, 171–82, 187–89, 215, 231, 267, 268). But nowhere does the Amended Complaint mention Mr. Sussmann’s acquittal. See United States v. Sussmann, No. 21-cr-582 (D.D.C.) In presenting a pleading, an attorney certifies that it is not being presented for any improper purpose; that the claims are warranted under the law; and that the factual contentions have evidentiary support. See Fed. R. Civ. P. 11. By filing the Amended Complaint, Plaintiff’s lawyers certified to the Court that, to the best of their knowledge, “the claims, defenses, and other legal contentions are warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying, or reversing existing law or for establishing new law,” and that “the factual contentions have evidentiary support[.]” Fed. R. Civ. P. 11(b)(2). I have serious doubts about whether that standard is met here.

pg 6 of the order

(Emphasis mine)

HABBA: And all the testimony we heard there, we get dismissed. Not only do we get dismissed, he said, he says this is not the proper place for recourse for Donald Trump. He has no legal ramifications [sic]. What is the proper place for him? Because the FBI won’t help.

Me: It’s not the FBI’s job to help criminals crime, honey…

HABBA: When you can do anything, obstruct justice, blatantly lie to the FBI. Sussman’s out, he gets acquitted.

Me: Oh, wait. So you knew Sussman was acquitted, but you argued as if he weren’t. I think there’s a word for that. Huh… what can it be?

HABBA: Where do you go? That, that’s the concern for me. Where do you get that, that recourse?

I actually had another tweet and transcription from Habba for you, but I accidentally deleted it as I was trying to copy-paste it, and I’m too tired to go look for it and listen to that nitwit for another 60-second clip…

And in the “MAGA republicans are scared shitless” category…

MARJORIE TAYLOR GREENE: There’s been 35 people from, from President Trump’s MAGA circle, the inner circle, um, his biggest allies were raided by the FBI, and I’ve been talking to some of them myself, today. And it’s terrifying. But, you know they’re going to build a scheme, they’re building a conspiracy, a spider web. They’re trying to lie about all of us. Say that we were doing something on January 6th that we absolutely were not. Everything we did was legal, and people fighting for election integrity is absolutely what they should do. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to know what happened in an election. What is wrong is, is the government is trying to stop us from knowing, and a government that’s trying to create a conspiracy that we were waging an insurrection and we absolutely were not.

Me: Here’s the thing, Margie… you’ve had nearly two years at this point to produce ANY evidence of widespread election farud, and you’re produced none. Moreover, the phone and text records will determine whether you and your little friends were engaged in a conspiracy to engage in insurrection. But, of course, when the evidence comes out, you’ll simply continue to lie and claim this is all a conspiracy from the other side to paint you as traitors.

Good luck with the doubling and tripling down. It’s not going to work…

So rather than stop digging, they’re still burrowing down even deeper. “Drill, baby, drilll!” has taken on a whole new meaning…

TUCKER CARLSON: Harmeet, thanks so much for coming on. What is the truth?

HARMEET DHILLON: Well, the truth is that a few days ago, a political reported called several people and said, “Hey, have you heard, or have you been served yet? The FBI is going to be serving 50, approximately, search warrants and/or subpoenas on Trump supporters.” And then, within 24 hours of that, two of our clients–three of our clients, actually–either did get search warrants or subpoenas. And the subpoenas are extremely broad. They’re from the “Capitol Siege” section of the United States Dept. of Justice’s DC office. And they asked for broad categories of documents, they asked for all communications dating from a month before the election until two months after the election. And they ask for all communications regarding dozens of people, and the categories are: alternate electors, fundraising around irregularities around the election, and also a rally that happened before the January 6th situation at the Capitol. So the Save America rally that happened. So, basically, most of this activity, if not all of it is protected by the First Amendment.

Me: Um… I don’t think putting into place illegal alternate electors is “protected First Amendment political speech.” I’m not an attorny like you are, Ms. Dhillon, but, yeah… that kinda seems outside the scope.

HARMEET DHILLON: And the United States Dept. of Justice is telling reporters about these search warrants and subpoenas before they’re executed. There’s no other explanation for this. And I think the reason for this is to instill fear into Donald Trump supporters and into those who would challenge election irregularities right before an upcoming election, Tucker.

Me: Is it the DOJ, or is it rogues within the DOJ who are giving trumpers the heads up here? So, in fact, there is another explanation which seems a lot more plausibls than the “vast Deep State” conspiracy theory to end all conspiracy theories.

HARMEET DHILLON: So this is really outrageous abuse by the DOJ, and it is illegal for the DOJ to leak this information to the media, Tucker.

Me: Hey, how do we know the person giving targets the heads up wasn’t, say, a member of the RW media who had already been served his own subpoena or warrant?

TUCKER CARLSON: If you alone have three personal clients who’ve been raided, then it tells you–I can’t believe decent liberals are sitting back and allowing this to happen. This will wreck the country, and they’re saying nothing about it.

Well, my Blender peeps, that’s about all the wallowing in the RW BoB I can take for today. Stay snarky!
