The news these days is often depressing at worst and frustrating at best. It’s easy to let it get us down. Never fear… The News Blender has you covered. Once a week we feature Something Good and, in return, all you have to do is tell us something good that has happened to you this week, something you are thankful for, a joke, a cute animal story, an inspiring tale of heroics, a Random Act of Kindness… SOMETHING good.

Today’s something good is a little bit of luck.

Ashley Garner lost her wedding ring. She sat it down on a chair outside their home and then her husband moved the chair and it was gone, according to WKRC. The couple, along with their three children looked everywhere for two days, with no luck.

With Hurricane Ian approaching, she gave up hope that it could ever be found and accepted the loss. “I just accepted that it was gone,” Ashley said. “It was only a thing. It’s replaceable, and I just let it go. We knew the hurricane was coming, so we just kind of said goodbye.”

The Garners’ neighborhood didn’t flood but the high winds left huge piles of brush that needed cleared away. After the storm had passed, the couple and their three children went outside to clean up the resulting mess. About 10 minutes into clearing away branches, her husband miraculously found her ring, sitting on a leaf in a pile of brush.

Ashley said, “I just sat on the curb, and I prayed to God and thanked him for providing and giving us a sign that there’s hope for the community.”

With every cloud, there is a silver lining. Now it’s your turn… Tell me something good!
