TNB Night Owl – R.E.M.

R.E.M. is another act with a long, productive history. Formed in 1980, the band were prolific creators of songs and music videos until packing it up in 2011. In those 31 years, they generated fifteen studio albums, four live albums, 63 singles, and 77 music videos.

R.E.M. hits were recorded on at least four charts in the U.S.; Billboard Hot 100, Alternative, Mainstream Rock, and AAA (Adult Alternative Airplay). This playlist would have been ridiculously long if it included every song that made top 40 on every chart, or even top 20. To cut it down to size, only tracks that reached top 10 made our list. (With one exception – It’s the End of the World as We Know It – which fell a bit short of top 10, but was included anyway because it’s an absolute signature song of the band)

If your favorite R.E.M. tune isn’t listed here, feel free to add it in the comments section, as always.
