The Spinners have been around for a very long time, as musical acts go. They formed in 1954, and they’re still touring today. You’d think that, like many groups from the past that still perform live, all of the original group members would have retired or passed away. Henry Fambrough, at 84 years old and the only original member still living, is still performing with the current lineup. Incredible!
One of my favorite R&B acts, most of The Spinners’ music did about as well in the top 40 category as they did on the R&B chart. They did have a few hits in the sixties, but saved their best stuff for the seventies which are included on this playlist.
