Diana Krall, an accomplished and popular jazz pianist from Canada, doesn’t really release singles the way most successful artists do. In fact, in the nearly thirty years she’s been active as a singer, songwriter, and musician, she’s only released four standard singles and about 16 promotional singles (which are more about marketing than making the charts). Instead, her success is measured in the charting of her albums, which have done very well over the years.

Since there are practically no charting singles from which to generate a playlist of Krall’s most popular work, for this Night Owl we’re going to listen to all ten tracks off one of her highly acclaimed albums. The Look of Love was released September 18, 2001, reaching number one on three charts: the Canadian Albums Chart, US Top Jazz Albums (Billboard), and US Traditional Jazz Albums (Billboard). It peaked at number nine on the US Billboard 200.

This album is easy listening music that’s soothing and relaxing. Great stress relief.
