The news these days is often depressing at worst and frustrating at best. It’s easy to let it get us down. Never fear… The News Blender has you covered. Once a week we feature Something Good and, in return, all you have to do is tell us something good that has happened to you this week, something you are thankful for, a joke, a cute animal story, an inspiring tale of heroics, a Random Act of Kindness… SOMETHING good.

Today’s something good is a forever home.

In Baltimore, at a shelter called Homeward Bound, a sweet but sad cat named Fishtopher was doing his time and hoping for someone to adopt him. The folks at the shelter wrote up a post about him on Pet Finder and shared a picture that went viral.

By the next day, there had been many inquiries about adopting him and there was even a line out the door of people enchanted by sad Fishtopher’s chubby cheeks. But the prize went a couple from Maryland who drove hours in the hopes of giving him a forever home.

Fishtopher has a happy home now as well as a Twitter and Instagram account, which are used not just to provide updates on his new life but also to promote other shelter cats who need adopting.

Everything about this story is bound to make you smile. Good for Fishtopher and good for his humans to use their platform to help other shelter cats. Now it’s your turn… Tell me something good.
