Bipartisan Budget Agreement Tweets

From Friday…

The YouTube is 12 minutes and 54 seconds long. His full remarks can be found here.

The video is 1 minute and 39 seconds long.

In this debate, I refused to put what was responsible for all this economic progress on the chopping block. This bipartisan agreement protects the law that will help us build the best infrastructure in the world.

It fully protects the CHIPS and Science Act, which is going to bring key parts of our supply chain to America so we don’t have to rely on others — like semiconductors, those tiny computer chips smaller than the tip of your finger that affect nearly everything we rely on, from cellphones to having — building automobiles, to the most sophisticated weapons systems, and so much more.

We protected another law that I passed and signed last year that finally beat Big Pharma, which I’ve been trying to do for over 30 years. It finally gives Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices, just like the VA has been able to do for veterans.

This law has already dramatically cut the cost of insulin for seniors from as much as $400 a month to just $35 a month for insulin.

Negotiating lower drug prices not only saves seniors a lot of money, it saves the country a lot of money — $160 billion that is not having to be paid out, because we have drug prices that are more rational. We pay the highest drug prices of any industrial nation in the world.

And it’s just the beginning.

You know, we also protected the most significant breakthrough ever — ever — in dealing with the exis- — existential threat of climate change.

Today, new wind and solar power is cheaper than fossil fuel.

Since I’ve been in office, clean energy and advanced manufacturing have brought in $470 billion in private investments. That’s going to create thousands of jobs — good-paying jobs — all across this country and help the environment at the same time.

Show more =’s economy in the world.

The video clip/GIF–is 9 seconds long. It features him signing the bill into law.

The video clip is 22 seconds long.

No matter how tough our politics gets, we need to see each other not as adversaries, but as fellow Americans. Treat each other with dignity and respect. To join forces as Americans to stop shouting, lower the temperature, and work together to pursue progress, secure prosperity, and keep the promise of America for everybody.

From Sunday…

Remarks by President Biden on his Budget for Fiscal Year 2024 (03/09/2023)

The video clip is 45 seconds long.

President Biden (0 seconds to 6 seconds mark of the video):

No, I’m serious.  My — it was an expression my dad would use.  “Show me your budget.  I will tell you what you value.”

Well, folks, let me tell you what I value with the budget I’m releasing today.

The rest of the video shows all the things the Bipartisan Budget agreement protects in text not voice-over.

Marking National Gun Violence Awareness Day Tweet

From Friday…

The 13 second video clip show the front the White House orange.

His full statement:

In the last year alone, we’ve lost more than 40,000 Americans to gun violence. Countless other survivors of gun violence will carry the trauma for the rest of their lives.

In the last two years, I’ve been able to sign the most significant gun safety legislation in decades and have taken dozens of executive actions. But it’s not nearly enough. I will keep fighting to do everything I possibly can, but the reality is that it will take Congressional action to make the kinds of meaningful reforms we need to keep our communities safe.

A broad majority of Americans want to see commonsense reforms that would curb our gun violence epidemic – like establishing universal background checks, requiring safe storage of firearms, and finally banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

But instead of listening to their constituents, Republicans in Congress continue to do the bidding of the gun lobby. Instead of shielding our kids from gun violence in their classrooms, Republicans in Congress are focused on shielding gun manufacturers from liability.

At a time when guns are the number one killer of kids in America, it shouldn’t be this hard to convince Republicans in Congress to keep weapons of war off our streets and to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people. Even a majority of responsible gun owners support commonsense actions to save lives and keep our communities safe.

State lawmakers must step up as well. I’m encouraged by the growing number of states working to pass commonsense measures like red flag laws and assault weapons bans, but we have to do more. And Americans must demand more.

It is within our power to realize a future where our malls, grocery stores, movie theaters, and places of worship are safe from the threat of gun violence. Where parents aren’t gripped with anxiety dropping their kids off at school every single day. Where our children don’t learn to duck and cover before they learn to read and write. But it will require Congress to act.

Today and every day, Jill and I hold those killed and injured by gun violence, and their loved ones, in our prayers. And we pray for the day that we can honor their memory with meaningful action to address a crisis of gun violence that has gone on for far too long.
