Happy Anniversary Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Tweets
From Wednesday…
Two years ago today, I signed a once-in-a-generation investment in America’s infrastructure and competitiveness.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 15, 2023
And since then, we've been hard at work implementing this bill and getting America moving again – leaving no community behind.
We've also enabled over 21 million low-income households to access the internet, started improvements on over 135,000 miles of roads, funded projects that will replace hundreds of thousands of lead service lines, and launched Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 15, 2023
We're delivering historic infrastructure investment across America, and we're getting it done with partners from all levels of government and the private sector.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 15, 2023
That’s why – thanks to my agenda – companies have announced over $614 billion in clean energy and manufacturing.
America is moving again.

And we don’t intend to slow down any time soon. pic.twitter.com/eOEfalTneg
The video clip is 33 seconds long.
Remarks by President Biden at Signing of H.R. 3684, The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (11/15/2021):
President Biden:
So my message to the American people is this: America is moving again, and your life is going to change for the better.
[snip]
Look folks, for too long, we’ve talked about having the best economy in the world. We’ve talked about asserting American leadership around the world with the best and the safest roads, railroads, ports, airports.
[snip]
This law is a blue-collar blueprint to rebuild America. It leaves no one behind. And it makes — it marks an inflection point that we face as a nation.
White House.gov. 11/15/2021.
Remarks by Vice President Harris on Rebuilding Our Infrastructure and Creating Good-Paying Jobs (01/04/2023):
Vice President Harris (0:16):
So, I’m here today because this bridge represents a very simple point: When we invest in our infrastructure, we invest in our economy, we invest in America’s future — a better future for workers, businesses, families, and communities.
White House.gov. 01/04/2023.
At the 25 second mark the words “And we are not done yet” appear over fast moving images of the work being done across America.

APEC/U.S.–PRC Summit/San Francisco Trip Tweets
From Wednesday…
I value the conversation I had today with President Xi because I think it's paramount that we understand each other clearly, leader to leader.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 15, 2023
There are critical global challenges that demand our joint leadership. And today, we made real progress. pic.twitter.com/rljB0Ow7JA
I’ve just concluded a day of meetings with President Xi, and I believe they were some of the most constructive and productive discussions we’ve had.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 16, 2023
We built on groundwork laid over the past several months of diplomacy between our countries and made important progress. pic.twitter.com/0RT1q0FZHr

After years, the People's Republic of China and the United States are restarting cooperation on counternarcotics.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 16, 2023
In particular, we seek to reduce the flow of precursor chemicals and pill presses fueling the fentanyl crisis.
First, I am pleased to announce that after many years of being on hold, we are restarting cooperation between the United States and the PRC on counternarcotics.
[snip]
So, today, with this new understanding, we’re taking action to significantly reduce the flow of precursor chemicals and pill presses from China to the Western Hemisphere. It’s going to save lives, and I appreciate President Xi’s commitment on this issue.
White House.gov. 11/15/2023.
Today, I'm announcing that the U.S. and PRC are resuming military-to-military communications.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 16, 2023
Clear and open communication between our defense establishments is vital to avoid miscalculation by either side and prevent conflict.
The world expects this of responsible countries.
Secondly, and this is critically important, we are reassuming military-to-military contact — direct contacts. As a lot of you press know who follow this, that’s been cut off, and it’s been worri- — worrisome. That’s how accidents happen: misunderstandings. So, we’re back to direct, open, clear, direct communications on a — on a ba- — on a direct basis.
Vital miscalculations on either side can — are — can cause real, real trouble with a — with a country like China or any other major country. And so, I think we made real progress there as well.
[snip]
That’s what the world expects of us — the rest of the world expects, not just in — people in China and the United States, but the rest of the world expects that of us. And that’s what the United States is going to be doing.
White House.gov. 11/15/2023.
Today, President Xi and I took tangible steps in the right direction, and the case I've made all along stands:
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 16, 2023
The United States will compete vigorously, and responsibly, with the People's Republic of China.
We will protect our national security interests.
We will stand up for… pic.twitter.com/HXyoVdvjk3
Show more =’s our values. And we will work together where it is possible and in our interests. That’s what the world expects of us.
These are tangible steps in the right direction to determine what’s useful and what’s not useful, what’s dangerous and what’s acceptable.
Moreover, there are evidence of cases that — that I’ve made all along: The United States will continue to compete vigorously with the PRC. But we’ll manage that competition responsibly so it doesn’t veer into conflict or accidental conflict. And where it’s possible, where it is in our interests are — coincide, we’re going to work together, like we did on fentanyl.
White House.gov. 11/15/2023.
That’s what the world expects of us — the rest of the world expects, not just in — people in China and the United States, but the rest of the world expects that of us. And that’s what the United States is going to be doing.
From Thursday…
Mr. President, we have known each other for a long time.
— President Biden (@POTUS) November 16, 2023
We have not always agreed. But our meetings are always candid, straightforward, and useful.
Yesterday was no different.
Our nations may be in competition, but that doesn't mean we can't compete responsibly. pic.twitter.com/550epPY91b

Remarks by President Biden and President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China Before Bilateral Meeting | Woodside, CA; the YouTube is 6 minutes and 2 seconds long.
Well, Mr. President, it’s good to see you again.
We’ve spent many hours together over the last 10 or 12 years. And — and to host you in the United States is a great honor and a pleasure, particularly as it relates to our summit today and for the APEC Leaders’ Meeting this week.
[snip]
Mr. President, we’ve known each other for a long time. We haven’t always agreed, which was not a surprise to anyone, but our meetings have always been candid, straightforward, and useful. I’ve never doubted what you’ve told me in terms of your candid nature in which you speak.
[snip]
We have to ensure that competition does not veer into conflict. And we also have to manage it responsibly — that competition.
[snip]
And the critical global challenges we face, from climate change to counternarcotics to artificial intelligence, demand our joint efforts.
White House.gov. 11/15/2023.
So, I look forward to beginning this discussion. And I welcome you.
And the floor is yours, Mr. President. And, again, welcome back.
