In December, Itay’s father and brother joined me at the White House, to share the agony and uncertainty they’ve faced as they prayed for the safe return of their loved one. At the end of our meeting, they gave me a menorah—a solemn reminder that light will always dispel the darkness, and evil will not win.

The Jerusalem Post reported this morning that 19-year old Itay Chen dual US-Israel citizen was killed on 10/07/2023, by Hamas. The IDF confirmed that Chen’s body was taken by Hamas after his death. They still have his body.
