I am deeply disturbed by the reports of an attempted drowning of a 3-year old Palestinian-American at a neighborhood pool.

No child should ever be subjected to a violent attack, and my heart goes out to the family. https://t.co/WpLDxUgP2O
The New York Times reported on Sunday that a Texas woman, has been charged with attempting to murder a 3 year old girl by drowning in an apartment complex pool located in Euless, Texas.
The incident took place on May 19th; initially the woman was arrested for public intoxication when she tried to leave the area following the attack.
Witnesses told the detectives “that the woman, Elizabeth Wolf, 42, had tried to drown a child and had argued with the child’s mother, the Euless Police Department said in a news release.”
The Tarrant County criminal district attorney’s office filed “charges of attempted capital murder and injury to a child on May 23, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported.”
The Texas Chapter of CAIR held a press conference on Saturday asking national and state officials to investigate the crime as a hate crime.
Mustafaa Carroll, the executive director of the Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said at a news conference on Saturday that the girl was attacked by a white woman who made the comments to the girl’s mother, who was wearing a hijab, a head scarf worn by Muslim women.
Mr. Carroll called on national and state law enforcement officials to open a hate crime investigation into the attack, which took place on May 19 in Euless, Texas, a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth.

I read several articles all are similar so I picked the ABC News article published on Monday to get around the NYT paywall. I no longer sub to the New York Times so I’m unable to gift the article.
Roe v. Wade/Dobbs Tweets
From Monday…
Two years ago when the Dobbs decision came down, Republican elected officials bet that all of us would remain silent.
— President Biden (@POTUS) June 24, 2024
That the women of America would remain silent.
That Jill, Kamala, Doug, and I wouldn't act.
Well, they were wrong then. And they're still wrong today. pic.twitter.com/f8X1Dc2Yye
In America today, women have fewer rights than their mothers and their grandmothers had because of my predecessor’s administration.
— President Biden (@POTUS) June 24, 2024
It's time Republicans on the Hill and in state houses across America stopped playing politics with women’s lives and freedom.
— President Biden (@POTUS) June 24, 2024
Restore Roe.
And let doctors do their job.
I said yesterday, this isn’t just about the ability to end an unwanted pregnancy.
This is about women and doctors being able to make the best choices for the woman’s reproductive health.
Republicans across the country have been saber rattling about ending access to birth control. Right-Wing Nut Jobs like, Charlie Kirk, say birth control makes the woman’s nuts. (it’s all talk, and stupid shit they say, but as a woman with a daughter that will have a high risk pregnancy I want her able to protect herself before she’s ready to have a child).
IVF has suffered a huge set back in AL (lawmakers there have attempted to restore IVF).
Birth control isn’t abortion.
IVF isn’t abortion.

From Tuesday…
From Orlando, Las Vegas, Parkland, and El Paso to Atlanta, Buffalo, and Uvalde, I hear the same message from survivors:

'Do something.'
Two years ago when I signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Law, we did.
Now, let's find the strength to finish what we started. pic.twitter.com/OAzoOOc9FK
Whether we’re Democrats or Republicans, we all want to drop our loved ones off at a house of worship or a school without worrying if it’s the last time we'll see them.
— President Biden (@POTUS) June 25, 2024
We all want our kids to have the freedom to learn to read and write without learning how to duck and cover.
