On the anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, more Americans have health insurance than under any president in history.

It matters.
Despite Republican attempts in Congress to put these programs on the chopping block, Kamala and I will always fight to protect and strengthen them.
For millions of Americans, a disability isn’t something broken to be fixed, it’s a source of power.

Today, the Senate took a crucial bipartisan step forward to keep our kids safe online, answering my call to strengthen privacy, ban targeted ads to children, and demand tech companies stop collecting data on our kids.

I urge the House to send this bill to my desk without delay.
Statement from President Joe Biden on Senate Passage of the Kids Online Safety and Privacy Act:
Today, the Senate took a crucial bipartisan step forward to make our kids safer online. There is undeniable evidence that social media and other online platforms contribute to our youth mental health crisis. Today our children are subjected to a wild west online and our current laws and regulations are insufficient to prevent this. It is past time to act. While my Administration has taken important steps to address the harms of social media and online platforms, we need action by Congress to protect our kids online and hold Big Tech accountable for the national experiment they are running on our children for profit. This bill answers the call from the Unity Agenda of my first State of the Union Address, when I said it was time to strengthen privacy protections, ban targeted advertising to children, and demand tech companies stop collecting personal data on our children.
The last time Congress took meaningful action to protect children and teenagers online was in 1998 – before the ubiquity of social media and smartphones. Our kids have been waiting too long for the safety and privacy protections they deserve and which this bill would provide. This is more important than ever with the growing use of AI. I want to thank Senators Blumenthal, Blackburn, Markey, and Cassidy, along with Leader Schumer, for their leadership on this legislation, and all of the bipartisan lawmakers who voted for this bill. I encourage the House to send this bill to my desk for signature without delay.

President Joe Biden spoke today with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil to discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues, including the emerging political situation in Venezuela following the July 28 presidential election. President Biden thanked President Lula for his leadership on Venezuela.
The two leaders agreed on the need for immediate release of full, transparent, and detailed voting data at the polling station level by the Venezuelan electoral authorities. The two leaders shared the perspective that the Venezuelan election outcome represents a critical moment for democracy in the hemisphere, and they pledged to remain in close coordination on the issue.
The presidents also committed to deepen cooperation between our two countries on accelerating the clean energy transition and to continue advancing the Partnership for Workers’ Rights, which they launched together on the margins of last year’s United Nations General Assembly to empower workers and combat some of the most significant issues facing working people.

First, I’m calling for a constitutional amendment called “No One is Above the Law Amendment.” It holds — (applause) — and I mean this sincerely. It holds there is no immunity for crimes a former president committed while in office. I share — (applause) — our founders’ belief that a president must answer to the law and the president is accountable in the exercise of the great power of the presidency. We’re a nation of laws, not kings and dictators. (Applause.)
The decision can be boiled down to the title of one case: Trump v. the United States.
The court asserted it was making a ruling for the ages. That isn’t true. The court made a ruling for one: a former president. No other president in our history has asked for this kind of immunity for criminal actions, and no president — no former president, not me, not one — not one has — should have been given the — be given any expectation to this with such immunity.

Farmers and ranchers work around the clock to put food on our tables and steward our nation's land – they should never experience discrimination in farm loan programs.
— President Biden (@POTUS) July 31, 2024
Today, I'm addressing that inequity. pic.twitter.com/15lSjUK50a
Farmers and ranchers work around the clock to put food on our tables and steward our Nation’s land. But for too long, many farmers and ranchers experienced discrimination in farm loan programs and have not had the same access to federal resources and support. I promised to address this inequity when I became President. Today that promise has become a reality. My Inflation Reduction Act took a bold step to address the effects of discrimination in farming and ranching, and today’s action will enable more farmers and ranchers to support themselves and their families, help grow the economy, and pursue their dreams.
