Trump Effect Shows No Slowdown; when you click the link you get this…

When I refreshed the page the link was also vanished.

It’s back up…

In his first month back in office, President Donald J. Trump has taken extraordinary action to usher in a new Golden Age of America – through border securityderegulationgovernment accountability, and leveling the playing field for American workers, to name a few.

The positive effects of President Trump’s policies continue to be felt across the country.

Here are some headlines you may have missed this weekend:

Trump Effect Shows No Slowdown. 02/17/2025.
  • Top automaker could move some production out of Mexico amid Trump tariff talks, CEO says (Fox Business (02/16/2025): “From Mexico to the U.S., we are exporting a significant number of cars this fiscal year[…] 320,000 units are exported from Mexico to the U.S., and if the high tariffs are imposed, we need to be ready for this, and maybe we can transfer the production of these models elsewhere if this were the decision, we will think how we can make it a reality while monitoring the situation,” Uchida said, according to a translation on Reuters (YouTube).
  • Trump tariffs spark ‘exciting time’ for Ohio steel plant as CEO eyes adding jobs, boosting productivity (Fox News 02/16/2025): “It’s a good piece of the formula that results in our company increasing utilization in the next 12 months, from 68% to probably 84%, and beyond that in years to come. So it’s a very exciting time for us,” JSW Steel USA CEO Robert Simon told Fox News Digital of Trump’s tariff plan in a phone interview on Thursday evening. [the boon is 100 new jobs over the next year in Ohio according to Simon].

San Diego migrant shelter closes after no new arrivals since Trump took office; over 100 employees laid off (Fox News 02/16/2025):

This tweet is shared at the bottom of the article.

It’s paywalled.

I went to FEMA verify the dollar amount.

From FEMA:

For Fiscal Year (FY) 2024, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will provide $640.9 million of available funds to enable non-federal entities to off-set allowable costs incurred for services associated with noncitizen migrant arrivals in their communities.

The funding will be distributed through two opportunities, $340.9 million through SSP – Competitive (SSP-C).

Here’s their statement 02/10/2025:

Amid Changing Federal Policies, Jewish Family Service Shifts Immigration Focus to Pro Bono Legal Aid and Continues Community Support Resources:

Jewish Family Service of San Diego (JFS) is working to meet the evolving needs of the community in response to recent and anticipated federal policy changes. With a deep commitment to its core value of “Welcome the Stranger,” JFS is focusing its immigration efforts on providing pro bono legal services and community support resources.

“We’ve been preparing for these changes in federal policies and enforcement,” said CEO Michael Hopkins. “While there are no longer individuals or families seeking asylum released from short term federal immigration custody to our Shelter Services, we are seeing increased needs for immigration legal assistance and other social service supports to vulnerable San Diegans. We’re also continuing to collaborate with our community partners to explore new ways to offer assistance.”

On Jan. 20, 2025, the federal government ceased use of the CBP One application, which allowed migrants to request asylum at U.S. ports of entry. With migrants no longer able to use the CBP One application, the San Diego Rapid Response Network (SDRRN) Migrant Shelter Services, operated by JFS, has not received new families and individuals released from short term federal custody into its care. Due to these changes in federal funding and policy, the SDRRN Migrant Shelter Services will be paused until there is better understanding of future community needs.

At the same time, needs are increasing for immigrants and undocumented residents and for vulnerable members of our community. JFS will continue providing robust pro bono immigration legal services for the most vulnerable cases, including unaccompanied minors and adults facing deportation; free immigration legal services and education for 12 community colleges and universities in the region; and renewals for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals recipients (DACA or Dreamers), along with JFS programs and services available to the community at large including for food, aging care services, case management and more.

In the past six years, the SDRRN Migrant Shelter Services has assisted more than 248,000 people seeking asylum – providing temporary shelter, food, case management, medical and legal services, and travel coordination to reunite people with their loved ones across the U.S.

“The SDRRN Migrant Shelter Services was a national model for welcoming a large number of people thanks to the tremendous support of elected officials, staff, partners, volunteers, donors and the community at large. I want to especially call out our staff for their tremendous, round-the-clock work to welcome with dignity every day,” said Hopkins. “We are proud of what we accomplished together – centering humanity, prioritizing public health and keeping hundreds of thousands of new people from becoming homeless on the streets of San Diego. Moving forward, there is much more work to be done to welcome newcomers and help our neighbors.”

The SDRRN Migrant Shelter Services began in late October 2018, when the Trump Administration ended the “Safe Release” program and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) began releasing hundreds of migrant families onto San Diego’s streets without warning and without following travel process protocols. The Shelter Services program was possible with the support of elected officials at all levels of government, SDRRN non-governmental organization partners, medical partners, private donors throughout the nation, JFS staff and a robust network of dedicated volunteers.

JFS immigration resources include:

Secretary Rollins Takes Bold Action to Stop Wasteful Spending and Optimize USDA to Better Serve American Agriculture (02/14/2025):

Today, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins addressed more than 400 USDA staffers, stakeholders and friends and pledged to bring greater efficiency to USDA to ensure it better serves American farmers, ranchers, and the agriculture community. She reviewed findings from the Department of Government Efficiency and welcomes the opportunity to optimize the USDA workforce and stop wasteful spending.

“I welcome DOGE’s efforts at USDA because we know that its work makes us better, stronger, faster, and more efficient. I will expect full access and transparency to DOGE in the days and weeks to come,” said Secretary Rollins.

Since January 20th, USDA has begun a comprehensive review of contracts, personnel, and employee trainings and DEI programs. In many cases, programs funded by the Biden administration focused on DEI initiatives that are contrary to the values of millions of American taxpayers.

Today, USDA is announcing the first tranche in a series of bold reforms.

Contracts

USDA terminated 78 contracts, which totaled more than $132 million. Additionally, more than 1,000 contracts are currently under review for potential termination. Here are just 10 examples of the frivolous Biden-era contracts USDA recently terminated or proposed procurements that were discontinued before they went into effect:

Secretary Rollins Takes Bold Action to Stop Wasteful Spending and Optimize USDA to Better Serve American Agriculture (02/14/2025).

  2. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Onboarding Specialist: $374,000
  3. Diversity Dialogue Workshops: $254,000

  8. Central American Gender Assessment Consultant: $29,000
  9. Neighborhood Electric Vehicle Utility Van: $33,000
  10. Hawaii conference room rental for 100-person USDA Meeting on Biodiversity: $11,000

Employee Trainings and DEI Programs

On Day One, Secretary Rollins issued a memo to officially rescinded of all Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) programs to reprioritize unity, equality, and meritocracy.

To this end, USDA has identified and canceled 948 employee trainings, 758 of which focused on DEI alone. Other canceled trainings include Environmental Justice and gender ideology.

Workforce Optimization

USDA is pursuing an aggressive plan to optimize its workforce by eliminating positions that are no longer necessary, bringing its workforce back to the office, and relocating employees out of the National Capital region into our nation’s heartland to allow our rural communities to flourish.

This is just the beginning. Over the next few days and weeks, Secretary Rollins will have the opportunity to review thousands of contracts, grants, cooperative agreements and spending across the agency to ensure that every dollar is being spent as effectively as possible to serve the people, not the bureaucracy.

Per the President’s directives, Secretary Rollins will lead a new era of USDA to ensure that it is the most efficient, nimble, and innovative department to serve American Agriculture since it was Established by President Abraham Lincoln.

That is down from a high of over 11,000 a day under Biden.  I started as a Border Patrol Agent in 1984 and I don’t remember the numbers ever being that low.  President Trump promised a secure border and he is delivering.” [I’m not looking this man up. President Donald J. Trump Approves Kentucky Emergency Declaration

Today, President Donald J. Trump declared that an emergency exists in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and ordered Federal assistance to supplement Commonwealth and local response efforts due to the emergency conditions resulting from severe storms, straight-line winds, flooding, and landslides beginning on February 14, 2025, and continuing.

The President’s action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts which have the purpose of alleviating the hardship and suffering caused by the emergency on the local population. FEMA will provide appropriate assistance for required emergency measures, authorized under Title V of the Stafford Act, to save lives and to protect property and public health and safety, and to lessen or avert the threat of a catastrophe in all 120 counties of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Specifically, FEMA is authorized to identify, mobilize, and provide, at its discretion, equipment and resources necessary to alleviate the impacts of the emergency.  Emergency protective measures, limited to direct federal assistance, will be provided at 75 percent Federal funding.

Mr. Jeremy Slinker of FEMA has been appointed to coordinate Federal recovery operations in the affected areas.

FOR FURTHER INFORMATION MEDIA SHOULD CONTACT THE FEMA NEWS DESK AT (202) 646-3272 OR FEMA-NEWS-DESK@FEMA.DHS.GOV.

President Donald J. Trump Approves Kentucky Emergency Declaration. 02/16/2025.

During his morning presser Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that the death toll has risen to 11 people. He adds that the number may still grow. He goes on to say that the storm has impacted all of Kentucky. As of this morning over 300 roads were still closed.

At the 10 minute and 59 second mark, he reminds people not to drive around barricades; the reason he issues the reminder is they already had to rescue a person that drove around barricades.

He shifts focus to explain that starting tomorrow there is another storm heading to the area starting on Tuesday and lasting through Wednesday.

  • Presidential Message on Susan B. Anthony Day, 2025; [snip] As President, I have already taken historic action to advance the sacred causes that Susan B. Anthony cherished so deeply. I was honored to sign an Executive Order safeguarding women’s sports—ensuring the survival of free and competitive spaces for female athletes. Additionally, I was proud to order the end of taxpayer-funded abortion—a big win for the most vulnerable among us.
  • Keeping Education Accessible and Ending Covid-19 Vaccine Mandates in Schools; Section 1.  Purpose and Policy.  Some school districts and universities continue to coerce children and young adults into taking the COVID-19 vaccine by conditioning their education on it, and others may re-implement such mandates.  Parents and young adults should be empowered with accurate data regarding the remote risks of serious illness associated with COVID-19 for children and young adults, as well as how those risks can be mitigated through various measures, and left free to make their own decisions accordingly.  Given the incredibly low risk of serious COVID-19 illness for children and young adults, threatening to shut them out of an education is an intolerable infringement on personal freedom.  Such mandates usurp parental authority and burden students of many faiths. It is the policy of my Administration that discretionary Federal funds should not be used to directly or indirectly support or subsidize an educational service agency, State educational agency, local educational agency, elementary school, secondary school, or institution of higher education that requires students to have received a COVID-19 vaccination to attend any in-person education program.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Establishes the National Energy Dominance Council

POSITIONING AMERICAN ENERGY FOR THE NEXT CENTURY: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order establishing the National Energy Dominance Council.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Establishes the National Energy Dominance Council. 02/14/2025.
  • The National Energy Dominance Council will be established within the Executive Office of the President, chaired by the Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum and vice-chaired by the Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, and comprised of members of President Trump’s cabinet and key government agencies.
  • The Council will advise President Trump on strategies to achieve energy dominance by improving the processes for permitting, production, generation, distribution, regulation, and transportation across all forms of American energy.
  • It will recommend a National Energy Dominance Strategy to the President aimed at cutting red tape, enhancing private sector investments, and advancing innovation.
  • The Council will facilitate cooperation between the federal government and domestic energy partners, ensuring policy consistency.
  • It will also consult with various public and private sector stakeholders to expand energy production and address cost barriers.

LOWERING PRICES AND STRENGTHENING AMERICAN ECONOMIC SECURITY: Championing domestic energy production is vital both for mitigating price shocks to American families and de-risking the energy supply chain for our Nation as well as our allies.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Establishes the National Energy Dominance Council. 02/14/2025.
  • American energy dominance is the most reliable way to ensure the stability and affordability of American energy prices.
    • Gasoline prices, as well as overall household energy prices, increased 30% under President Biden.
    • The Biden-Harris Administration dramatically slowed the growth rate of American energy production and development, including by instituting a federal oil leasing moratorium, increasing energy permitting times by multiples of what they had been under President Trump, and removing hundreds of million acres from being available for energy production.
    • Over the last four years, it is estimated that our Nation produced over two billion fewer barrels of oil than anticipated by trend (had President Trump’s energy policies been kept intact), a vast quantity of lost supply that could have lessened the burden of energy prices on American families.
  • Developing American energy resources will enable our Nation to reduce its reliance on foreign entities, including strategic adversaries.
    • While creating policies to restrict American production, the Biden Administration asked OPEC+ to increase production to meet American energy demand.
    • As energy prices rose, the Biden Administration was reluctant to enforce American oil sanctions on rogue regimes, allowing Iran to export over one million barrels of oil per day through lax enforcement (up from a low of approximately 70,000 under the Trump administration) and temporarily lifting oil sanctions altogether on the Maduro regime in Venezuela.
    • The United States is also highly dependent on China for a range of critical minerals, which has put our Nation’s supply chain at risk, as exemplified by China’s recent weaponization of its resources through bans on exporting germanium, gallium, and antimony to the United States.
    • As our Nation makes rapid advancements in next generation technologies, such as artificial intelligence (along with the associated data centers), and energy demand rises, it will be all the more important to expand domestic energy supply.
  • American energy leadership is vital not only for our Nation’s economic and national security, but also for the security of our allies.
    • America’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry has played a critical role in helping Europe reduce its dependence on Russian energy, with LNG exports to Europe rising 141% in 2022, and continuing to increase to fill the gap.
    • President Trump warned Western Europe as early as 2017 to rely on American natural gas rather than Russian energy.

RESTORING AMERICAN ENERGY DOMINANCE: President Trump has a demonstrated track record of empowering American energy production, and will return our Nation to energy dominance.

Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Establishes the National Energy Dominance Council. 02/14/2025.
  • During President Trump’s first term, our Nation became a net exporter of energy for the first time in nearly 70 years and transformed into the world’s leading oil producer.
  • President Trump expedited the LNG export license process (achieving licensing times one-sixth as long as those seen during the Biden Administration, which revoked these reforms), reduced the permitting time for drilling on federal lands (increasing permit applications by 300%), fixed the New Source Review (which punished companies for repairing and upgrading coal power plants), and opened up millions of acres for domestic energy development.
  • Under President Trump’s leadership, American families saved an average of $2,500 per year in utility and gas costs, while the economy at large saw the creation of new American energy jobs.

Wins Come All Day Under President Donald J. Trump

It was another week filled with endless wins for the American people under President Donald J. Trump.

    • The president of the Aluminum Association said: “We appreciate President Trump’s continued focus on strong trade actions to support the aluminum industry in the United States.”
    • Colorado Springs-based, family-owned Western Steel, Inc., praised the move: “What we hope that the tariffs will bring is some sort of stability to U.S. pricing. It allows a little bit more money to be made … on the intermediate level like us.”
  • President Trump unveiled a plan for fair and reciprocal trade, making clear to the world that the United States will no longer tolerate being ripped off.
    • The Renewable Fuels Association said: “The Brazilian tariff on U.S. ethanol now stands at 18 percent and has virtually eliminated all market access for U.S. ethanol producers. We thank President Trump for taking this action and hope this reciprocal tariff will help encourage a return to free and fair ethanol trade relationship with Brazil.”
  • President Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in pursuit of finally securing peace.
  • President Trump hosted Jordan’s King Abdullah II, who announced the Kingdom will accept 2,000 sick children from Gaza “as quickly as possible.”

  • Illegal border crossings have hit lows not seen in decades.
  • Hundreds of illegal aliens from Venezuela were repatriated back to their own country on Venezuelan-owned planes.
  • Illegal aliens have started turning around in droves amid the Trump Administration’s crackdown on dangerous illegal immigration.

Yeah, I’m gonna need some food, sleep, and booze to go through all that mass of BS that was dropped by the White House on Valentines Day…

I am gonna stop there; at some point, I will figure out the “new” normal isn’t anywhere near the “old” normal we had just two months ago.
