Illegal Border Crossings “Plummeted” In January
Illegal immigration at the southern border “plummeted” in January amid President Donald J. Trump’s return to office and immediate crackdown.

According to newly released data from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), just 61,465 illegal aliens were apprehended at the southern border during the entire month of January — a 36% decline from the previous month. That number includes 29,116 apprehended along the border — the lowest since May 2020 — and 32,349 at ports of entry.
After President Trump took office, apprehensions declined even more rapidly: “From Jan. 21 through Jan. 31, the number of U.S. Border Patrol apprehensions along the southwest border dropped 85% from the same period in 2024, according to data obtained by ABC News. In the 11 days after Jan. 20, migrants apprehended at ports of entry declined by 93%.”
During the previous administration, the average number of illegal aliens encountered at the southern border in January was 141,710 — the result of dangerous policies that ferried illegal aliens directly into our communities, where they were allowed to stay indefinitely.
Now, under President Trump, illegal border crossings are at record lows as illegal aliens are promptly arrested and sent home.

NBC News (02/03/2025: Updated on 02/06/2025): The Trump administration aggressively publicized the arrests of more than 8,000 immigrants by federal agents since Inauguration Day, with the promise that those detained would be part of a historic mass deportation. But NBC News has learned that some have already been released back into the United States on a monitoring program, according to five sources familiar with the operations. In a press conference on Wednesday, two days after initial publication of this article, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed NBC News’ reporting and said that 461 migrants have been released after arrest since President Donald Trump took office.
Washington Post (02/18/2025; gift link): The Trump administration on Tuesday cut off funding to legal service providers who give advice and legal representation to children who crossed the border without their parents, according to a memo obtained by The Washington Post. The memo, issued by a division of the Interior Department, ordered the Acacia Center for Justice — a nonprofit through which the program is funded — to “stop all work” associated with its contract for legal services for unaccompanied minors, effective immediately.
They added:
“What this is going to do is really leave children vulnerable to exploitation and to further abuse,” Shaina Aber, executive director of the Acacia Center for Justice, said in an interview Tuesday. The program ensures “children are provided with the legal knowledge and representation they need to have their rights protected.”

Aber, the group’s executive director,said the stop-work order “flies in the face” of a decades-long, bipartisan effort to ensure that minors who have been trafficked or are at risk of being trafficked can receive proper legal information and assistance.
The “Know Your Rights” trainings offered under the program ensure “that children navigating the immigration system alone understand their rights and legal obligations,” she said.

SUPPORTING AMERICAN FAMILIES: As many as one in seven couples trying to have a baby are unable to conceive, and many face significant financial hurdles to accessing IVF.

RESTORING DEMOCRACY AND ACCOUNTABILITY IN GOVERNMENT: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive Order ensuring that all federal agencies are accountable to the American people, as required by the Constitution. Under this Executive Order:
- The Order notes that Article II of the U.S. Constitution vests all executive power in the President, meaning that all executive branch officials and employees are subject to his supervision.
- Therefore, because all executive power is vested in the President, all agencies must: (1) submit draft regulations for White House review—with no carve-out for so-called independent agencies, except for the monetary policy functions of the Federal Reserve; and (2) consult with the White House on their priorities and strategic plans, and the White House will set their performance standards.
- The Office of Management and Budget will adjust so-called independent agencies’ apportionments to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely.
- The President and the Attorney General (subject to the President’s supervision and control) will interpret the law for the executive branch, instead of having separate agencies adopt conflicting interpretations.
REINING IN INDEPENDENT AGENCIES: So-called independent agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have exercised enormous power over the American people without Presidential oversight.
- These agencies issue rules and regulations that cost billions of dollars and implicate some of the most controversial policy matters, and they do so without the review of the democratically elected President.
- They also spend American tax dollars and set priorities without consulting the President, while setting their own performance standards.
- Now they will no longer impose rules on the American people without oversight or accountability.
ENSURING A GOVERNMENT THAT ANSWERS TO THE PEOPLE: This order fulfills President Trump’s promise to restore constitutional governance and accountability to the entire executive branch.
- Executive power without responsibility has no place in our Republic. The United States was founded on the principle that the government should be accountable to the people. That is why the Founders created a single President who is alone vested with “the executive Power” and responsibility to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”
- Voters and the President can now hold all Federal agencies—not just Cabinet departments—responsible for their decisions, as the Constitution demands.

I highlighted the bullshit about the Executive Branch being able to determine if they are breaking the law. Like most of his EO’s, I assume this one will face some sort of legal challenge(s).
This is just my opinion:
I think the level of outrage over this is worthy, but I also think, the goal with this EO is so he can make his way to the supreme’s where they will determine if he is in fact 100 percent above the law; but only him with language that makes sure the evil D future president (yes, I know if there is a future president) doesn’t have the same above the law abilities.

The Kyiv Independent (02/19/2025): Ukraine understands that U.S. President Donald Trump’s false claim that President Volodymyr Zelensky holds a 4% approval rating comes from Russia, Zelensky said during a press conference on Feb. 19. “We saw this disinformation. We understand it comes from Russia. We understand, and we have evidence that those figures have been discussed between the U.S. and Russia,” Zelensky said.

Kremlin propaganda has pushed the narrative that Zelensky is an illegitimate leader, relying on the premise that his first presidential term was originally meant to end on May 20, 2024.
The false allegation ignores the fact that the Ukrainian constitution prohibits elections during martial law, which went into effect after Russia launched the full-scale invasion in 2022.
While voicing his respect for Trump and the American people, Zelensky said that the U.S. president “sadly lives in this disinformation space.” Zelensky also pointed to the latest survey that put the president’s approval rating at 57%, adding that efforts to replace him at this moment would not be successful.

NBC News (02/14/2025): The Trump administration has suggested to Ukraine that the United States be granted 50% ownership of the country’s rare earth minerals, and signaled an openness to deploying American troops there to guard them if there’s a deal with Russia to end the war, according to four U.S. officials.
Two officials told NBC News, that the US, instead of paying for the mineral rights, it would be a way for Ukraine to reimburse us for the weapons and support we’ve given as they defend themselves against Russian’s invasion.
According to eight officials that had been briefed on a meeting between US Treasury Secretary, Scott Bessent and President Zelenskyy, Bessent presented the propsal to President Zelenskyy in the form of a drafted contract.

AP News (02/12/2025): House Republicans released a budget plan Wednesday that sets the stage for advancing many of President Donald Trump’s top domestic priorities, providing for up to $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and a $4 trillion increase in the debt limit so the U.S. can continue financing its bills. The budget plan also directs a variety of House committees to cut spending by at least $1.5 trillion while stating that the goal is to reduce spending by $2 trillion over 10 years.
They went on to say; The Energy and Commerce Committee, which handles health care spending, is asked to cut $880 billion over the decade, while the Education and Workforce Committee is asked to reduce spending by $330 billion. The Agriculture Committee is asked to save $230 billion, while the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee is asked to find at least $10 billion in cuts through 2034.
And of course this was coming as expected; Even as some programs would be cut, money would be shifted to other Trump priorities, including a $100 billion boost in defense spending over the next decade through the Armed Services Committee and an additional $90 billion for the Homeland Security Department, which is carrying out Trump’s massive immigration deportation.
