Keeping it in the family!

I had no idea this was a thing; so much shit is happening in D.C., keeping up is a taxing (see what I did there?) endeavor that us mere mortals are incapable of covering or knowing…

I googled it.

NBC News (03/07/2025):

Two of President Donald Trump’s allies have launched bids for leadership roles with the D.C. Bar Association, an under-the-radar effort that would give them more control over the influential legal group.

The push comes amid bar associations’ confrontations with the Trump administration, and some federal attorneys have looked to their state groups for ethical guidance amid Trump’s rapid reshaping of government.

Bradley Bondi — a lawyer who is Attorney General Pam Bondi’s brother — and Alicia Long — a deputy to Ed Martin, Trump’s interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia — are running for president and treasurer. The election runs from April to June, according to the organization’s website.

NBC News (03/07/2025).

After the article was published Bradley Bondi is quoted as telling NBC News:

The Bar has a non-partisan mission, which I intend to vigilantly protect against any push to politicize it. My effort to run for DC Bar president began months before the federal elections and has no connection with national politics at all. With my six years of DC Bar leadership — having been elected two times to a Bar leadership position — three years in public service, and over 20 years in private practice and as a law professor, my record of serving the legal community with that integrity is plain to see.

[His focus he says is] efficiency and practical benefits [which includes] free on-demand continuing legal education for all 50 states.

[He goes on to say] This isn’t about politics; I’m running to help strengthen our profession and support members of the Bar no matter what their beliefs or backgrounds

NBC News (03/07/2025).

This isn’t huge ground breaking news, but researching the above I was reminded that in February on her first official day as Attorney General, Pam Bondi, warned DOJ attorney’s that they couldn’t refuse to “follow” orders as it would deprive the “President” of “his attorney’s”.

I found the above document that I screen grabbed at Politico.com (02/05/2025); the article explains her first day flurry of directives.

Farmer Bailouts are Coming?

“Lies” social…

The text:

Our farmers are GREAT, but because of their GREATNESS, they are always put on the Front Line with our adversaries, such as China, whenever there is a Trade negotiation or, in this case, a Trade War. The same thing happened in my first term.

China was brutal to our Farmers, I these Patriots to just hold on, and a great trade deal was made. I rewarded our farmers with a payment of $28 Billion Dollars, all through the China deal. It was a great transaction for the USA, until Crooked Joe Biden came in and didn’t enforce it.

China largely reneged on the deal (although they behaved during the Trump Administration), only buying a portion of what they agreed to buy.

They had ZERO respect for the Crooked Biden Administration, and Wno can blame them for that? Interestingly, they just reneged on the big Boeing deal, saying that they will “not take possession” of fully committed to aircraft.

The USA will PROTECT OUR FARMERS!!

“Lies” social post. 04/15/2025.

He bailed out the farmers in his first term, with our money, as China, does not pay the tariffs, we do.

As to the Boeing deal…

Bloomberg is reporting this, I found Yahoo! Finance that used Reuters (Reuters and CBS News both cited Bloomberg as the source of the claim).

China has ordered its airlines not to take any further deliveries of Boeing jets in response to the U.S. decision to impose 145% tariffs on Chinese goods, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

[snip]

China’s top three airlines – Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines – had planned to take delivery of 45, 53 and 81 Boeing planes, respectively, between 2025 and 2027.

Beijing has also asked that Chinese carriers halt purchases of aircraft-related equipment and parts from U.S. companies, the Bloomberg report said.

Yahoo! Finance. 04/15/2025.

Reminder: President Shit for brains started this trade war. He could end it, but he won’t cause remember they are “easy to win”.

CNBC News reported yesterday:

The Trump administration says a reshoring boom is coming, but most companies that responded to the survey tell CNBC that bringing back supply chains could as much as double their costs and that instead a search for low-tariff regimes around the world will commence.

Over half of those surveyed (57%) said cost was the top reason for saying they would not be reshoring production; 21% said their top reason was the challenge of finding skilled labor. The Trump administration has promised tax cuts for companies that bring back manufacturing, but the survey found taxes (14%) lower in companies’ ranking of factors that impact manufacturing site decision-making.

[snip]

Taken together, the majority of respondents estimated that the price tag of building a new domestic supply chain would at least be double current costs (18%), or would likely be more than double costs (47%). Instead of moving supply chains back to the United States, 61% said it would be more cost-effective to relocate supply chains to lower-tariffed countries.

In addition to the tariffs, consumer demand and raw material prices, as well as the “current administration’s inability to provide a consistent strategy,” were cited as key supply chain concerns.

A majority of respondents (61%) who responded to a question about whether they feel like the Trump administration “is bullying corporate America” answered “Yes.”

CNBC News. 04/14/2025.

The survey wasn’t very big, only about 300 total responses with only about 120 of those answering all questions. But it does give a voice to the growing concern businesses are seeing in real life as result of this trade war nobody asked for.

Another thing, that President Shit’s own spokespeople are pushing is the lean into automation according to CNBC News; If manufacturing is coming back to the U.S., automation will be a major component of the economic model, with 81% of respondents saying they would use it more than they would human workers.

Follow-up…

Yesterday, we all saw the disgrace that happened inside the Oval Office. In the comment section I wondered out loud about someone (not just me) coming up with a timeline of events that center around Kilmar Abrego Garica case. Not just what is happening now, but what happened before. Considering recent lies by Nazi Miller.

As they say ask and you might just receive!

This morning I also found this from Empty Wheel…

I’m not going to copy over her blog post, but I want to note this as I had been struggling to figure out where in the hell had I read it before…

Before this claim, DOJ barely mentioned two earlier rulings from 2019 (one two) asserting Abrego Garcia could not be released because of hearsay ties to MS-13, relying instead on procedural arguments. In a footnote, Judge Xinis ruled that DOJ did not rely on it before her.

[snip]

As Judge Stephanie Thacker noted in the Fourth Circuit opinion denying a stay the government thereby could not raise it before her.

Empty Wheel.net. 04/15/2025.

She quotes Judge Thacker in depth, I’m gonna skip to the footnote 9…

9 Of note, the IJ’s 2019 decision, which granted Abrego Garcia withholding of removal to El Salvador pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1231(b)(3)(A) because he faced threats to his life from an El Salvadoran gang that had targeted him and his family, was during President Trump’s 2016–2020 term in office. That decision became final on November 9, 2019, and was not appealed by this Administration.
