Today’s post is going to be like most posts, disjointed and out of order.

The one, big, beautiful bill act passed the House, by the narrowest of margins.

From the Office of the Clerk, U.S. House:

The two republicans that voted no.

RepresentativePartyStateVote
DavidsonRepublicanOhioNay
MassieRepublicanKentuckyNay

The one republican that voted present.

RepresentativePartyStateVote
Harris (MD)RepublicanMarylandPresent

All other R’s voted yes; while all democrats voted no.

The text of the bill can be found here.

His grossness posted the following on “Lies Social”.

The CBO says in part:

The bill now heads to the Senate.

In other news…

A court has ruled that President Shit for Brains, can’t EO the end of the Department of Education only Congress can…

A federal judge in Massachusetts on Thursday issued an injunction blocking the Trump administration from dismantling the Department of Education, and ordered fired employees be reinstated.

“The record abundantly reveals that Defendants’ true intention is to effectively dismantle the Department without an authorizing statute,” U.S. District Judge Myong Joun wrote, noting “the Department cannot be shut down without Congress’s approval.”

In sad news.

Last night two Israeli Embassy staffers were shot and killed.

The suspect in the fatal shooting of 2 Israeli Embassy employees outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night has been identified as 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago.

Rodriguez allegedly shot and killed the victims — a couple about to become engaged, according to Yechiel Leiter, Israel’s ambassador to the U.S. — as they were leaving the museum, which is located in the heart of the U.S. capital. According to police and video from the scene, he shouted “free, free Palestine” as he was being taken into custody.

Here’s another story about the couple that was murdered.

I debated about sharing Shitshow’s post but decided it wasn’t the worst post ever.

A personal note: Covering these types of tragedies is extremely hard. On the one hand, you want to provide the facts as they are known. On the other hand, this violence is so senseless and sad, that emotions run high.

It’s a catch-twenty-two in so far as you don’t want to forget two people are now dead by a man and his gun. All because they were there and Jewish.

Terrible tragedy.

This is an open thread

P.S.

Sorry for the late post, I got distracted reading the House bill and lost track of the time…
