Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E2 – Water, Water Everywhere

After running out of water, Oliver learns that Mr. Haney has hired Willie the Well-Witcher to relieve his farm’s water shortage. But the new well is stealing all of the Douglas’s’ water. New wells are drilled and others keep drying up until Oliver calls a town meeting and proposes another solution. Suggesting that the valley get its water from a reservoir, Oliver plans to build and fund a pipe with federal and state money. Politics and government inefficiencies ensue, in particular when a surveyor declares that the Douglas’ farm is the ideal site of the new reservoir. Oliver saves his farm by coming up with another idea: they will pipe in the water from another reservoir nearby. With the construction of the new pipe, it seems like all of the town’s water problems will be solved…that is, until the valves are opened.
