Second Feature: Green Acres: S2 E5 – The Ugly Duckling

When Oliver (Eddie Albert) discovers Mr. Haney attempting to disconnect their phoneline, a battle begins with the phone company over the collection of an overdue bill. Oliver explains to Mr. Haney that the phone company has never properly installed the line, but quickly finds out that wife Lisa has rung up a huge bill by making several calls to Europe. Meanwhile, the Monroe Brothers show up to fix the Douglas’s closet door, but Ralph is devastated because her true love, Mr. Kimball, has stood her up on another date. Lisa devises a solution: give Ralph an intensive, two-day beauty treatment, including moving in with the Douglases. While Lisa works at her challenging task, Oliver is forced to sleep in the barn with Eb so that Ralph can get her beauty rest. Finally, the beautified Ralph, complete with false eyelashes that don’t seem properly separate, is revealed to a surprised Mr. Kimball.
